My husband separted from the marine corps honorably and not for any medical conditions. Then he applied for disability for his shoulder. He had surgery for his shoulder while he was in, but the surgery did not fix his shoulder and he didn't have time to recieve another surgery before the end of his contract. His contract for the inactive reserves ends sometime in 2008. He can not meet the physical requirements for pull ups, but can meet the other requirements. His MOS in the military was in intelligence so it is a critical MOS. He was deployed to Iraq one time, while he was in and his shoulder was messed up then.

We're PCSing back to Fort Bragg in a few months, but my husband may have to be on leave for a month between ANCOC and his sign in date. Can he arrive early? With four kids, two dogs and a cat, I doubt we'll be fighting for post housing. Can we start the home-buying process now, or do we HAVE to wait till he inprocesses? We're looking in the Raeford area.

Today, I went to a funeral for a fallen soldier. The Patriot Guard Riders were there to block a Kansas-based group that calls itself, Westboro Baptist Church; out of Topeka, Kansas that protests military funerals. It was amazing, what the people of the Patriot Guard Riders did for this family that was only there to bury their son in honor and respect. I am still sick to my stomach that these ignorant people would even contact our newspaper down here saying that they were going to be there. Thank the Lord, they never showed up. I know I am violating the rules of yahoo answers for mention these people but if more people hear about them and their dispicable ways I don't care.
I wish to thank the Patriot Guard Riders from all over the United States for everyhting they do for our soldiers that have died for us.

Before during and after Falkands war accidently met many sholders online playing cards. So far have met non from Iraq. Wondering if anyone has. Also wondering if military has impossed blackout, which Clinton did not. Know desert is different environment than woodlands of Europe, but in baracks there shouldn't be that great of a difference.

In 1969 when Ho chi minh died, I was in Vietnam as a young 11B4P Abn Grunt. We were instructed to allow the VC to pass if they wore a white arm band. We did'nt.

Now I know how easily the US government can coerce the young to do their "dirty work" in unprovoked wars. No lessons were learned from the VN war which was lost and now the US repeats those mistakes not learned in Iraq!

Uncle Ho was a good man and strategist. He and his armies won the war based on the will of the people not on the battles that were fought. Though Ho is gone, I honor his persistance to keep other countries like the US and France out of Vietnam. They poison the people and the earth!

I have a friend who is currently in basic training and will be beginning Officer Candidate School... I'm wondering how much communication they are allowed during this time. Is it about the same restrictions as during basic training or do they get a little more freedom?

Yeah, I'm going into the Air Force maybe. I'm not sure if I'll still be able to have/take care of kids. I'm going to be a nurse midwife and I don't know if I'll have the opprotunity to still have kids before I leave the force. Is anyone on here a girl in the air force that can answer my question?

This goes for anyone who has been to boot camp. My mom is going off to boot camp in a couple of weeks and she is getting very nervous. What do they let women take and not take. I told her she should not do this and she will probably quit in the first few days.
