Unless it effects their paycheck, not much. Hundreds of thousands of jobs depend on the military so base closings, no matter how smart that would be, are always causing an uproar. Airplane mechanics making $60,000 plus are always getting upset when their factory closes. Therefore they support the wars to keep their factory open.

In the case of Rome, the military policy started to fall apart when Nomadic tribes made constant raids. But after that, it was when a bigger, badder military came along and whipped the pants off the dominant nation. As far as I know, America has never been raided, and the only military that is now looking to challenge America is China, but there still a long way off of being a match to American military might. So, America's military strength is going to be strong for a long time to come.

We have a bunch of nay Sayers here, probably from other countries that have no idea what America is all about. We have the greatest military in the world and plenty of money, men, and women to go for as long as we need to go. And because of this great military we have and so many other reasons, we also happen to live in the best country in the world, that's why everyone is trying to get into our country. If these nay Sayers and/or terrorists would put as much energy into their family, themselves, their country, their god, they may actually live a pretty happy and fulfilling life. Wow, wouldn't that be a change?

It can go forever as long as the machine is kept in good repair and updated and in tune. Long as the American army stays up todate and changes with the times it will never fall. It has to only stay ahead and being it is the power it is it is in control of how things change. So if you can change things and how wars are fought then you are the game keeper not the player. The games are never fair for the players and the Americans are not players they are the controllers.

Of course an extended military effort is demoralizing, but being attacked here on American soil is even more threatening. The general public will, and is, getting frustrated with Iraq and Muslim terrorists. But if we have another attack here, then frustration will turn to fear and the populous will call for a stronger defense.

the only negative you should be worried about is what the military calls "incoming" get the idea? or does the Americans have to draw a picture so the rag heads can see?

What goes around comes around... the U.S has bullied countries...other countries will bully the U.S

Muslims kill people because they believe that there way is right. People will kill muslims because they believe there way is right.

What goes around comes around....what goes up must come down.
