Were the anti-war activists right? Did Exxon et al get any special access?

The war plan was that oil revenues would pay for the war. It hasn't worked out that way. For some reason, the Iraqi's do not want US coming in and stealing their oil. Imagine that! Why I bet Americans would greet foreign looters with open arms. What were we going to be greeted with? Oh yes, flowers and chocolates. Is that how you would expect Americans to greet foreign occupiers on our soil, stealing our resources? Not too realistic. But reality didn't count in planning the war. It was all a fantasy, a delusion. Liberals don't do delusions, we are liberals because we analyze situations scientifically!

From everything I have seen none of the oil has directly benefited any US company. If one of the Exxon types were getting any benefit, would not the liberals be screaming about it everywhere. I have not seen a single thing that would realistically support the frequently stated mis-belief that we went to war in Iraq because of the Oil. Some have attempted to make a point that the increased gas prices are a result of the war (basically the oil producing countries are upset over the war) but other factors exist that make much better suspects for the cost of gas.

No oil company has gotten any special access to something the US has no control over. The US buys most of it's foreign oil from Canada not Iraq. In 2002, we imported less than 3% of oil from from Iraq. Hardly a reason to go to war - too easy to replace. We rescued Kuwiat & had their oil fields under our control, if we wanted to take oil that would have been the time.
We went to war to remove Saddam from power after his murder if over a million of his own people.

we will not in any respect completely recognize the reason for the conflict in IRAQ. i recognize component of it grew to become into in accordance with Former President Bush being threatened by using Saddam and President Bush (contemporary) wanting to suitable revenge. There are supposedly memories of the conflict in accordance with WMD, that have not been discovered. definite they would not have been discovered, inspite of the undeniable fact that how some years grew to become into Hussein in skill and while the U.N. inspectors tried to seek, he saved taking part in video games with them at the same time as he saved shifting the WMD. IRAQ is a extensive component of barren region, which may well be an marvelous place to cover WMD. i for my section believe that they are nonetheless over there and could be discovered. As to the oil, definite we pick oil, inspite of the undeniable fact that why are such a number of of our very own oil wells in Texas, Oklahoma, California, Arizona, to no longer point out North and South Dakota, Montana and different states nonetheless capped off and not being utlized? I recommend human beings initiate examining the information with regard to the upward thrust interior the fee of crude oil. interior the eighty's, there grew to become right into a espresso bean freeze, definite espresso expenditures climbed quickly. Then some years later Florida suffered a citrus crop freeze. expenditures rose quickly. the two circumstances, there grew to become right into a so referred to as oil scarcity and the fee of gas rose quickly. Now with the drought, the fee of flour and so on will upward thrust because of the shortcoming of wheat. i does no longer be taken aback in the event that they declare that the fee of oil has risen through short grant from the drought. They already on the instant reported that the Tropical typhoon no longer even slated to hit the U.S. has brought about the fee of crude to upward thrust, on fears it would take out the Oil rigs interior the Gulf Coast section. If every person truly believes interior the oil companies lies, i'm going to forward some get wealthy speedy schemes that come into my bulk mail on a daily basis, alongside with one now to purchase land fee effectively in around the islands out by using the Bahamas. i do no longer remember the right island. If human beings pick to attempt against the themes we face, then get off your at the back of and write your Senators and Representatives and don't ask, call for that they take action. Many are up for re-election this and next 12 months and a splash reminder of a crimson slip can artwork wonders at circumstances.

we get very little of our oil from Iraq...never have ...so if we were just bombing for oil...would have been better off bombing Canada, Saudi Arabia or Venezuela ...along with a myriad of other countries from whom we get far more oil................
