Yeah, I'm going into the Air Force maybe. I'm not sure if I'll still be able to have/take care of kids. I'm going to be a nurse midwife and I don't know if I'll have the opprotunity to still have kids before I leave the force. Is anyone on here a girl in the air force that can answer my question?

No you can not have kids after joining the Air Force. The first day in the Air Force they sew up your vagina. The reason for this is that so many girls were joining the air force and then getting pregnant to get out. If you have the stitches removed they immediately send you to peace keeping duty in the Central African Republic.

I don't think this is a dumb question at all! I am in the Air Force and it's not a problem at all. Air Force will do everything in it's power to keep the family close. ex: You are Joint spouse (married to military) If you cant be stationed at the same base, they will get you two stationed at a base very close together or as close as possible. At AF bases, they have day cares, schools, pediatrics... you name it... Go ahead... you will love it!

I'm getting ready to go into the Coast guard for 6 years. I plan on having one more child before my enlistment is up. Due to the fact that my first child is 4. They can't stop you or punish you for having kids. If you are married you husband will have to step in and help out. There is no reason why you can't. It might be hard if you go on deployment. But it never is easy leaving your family. Good luck to you.

YES! I was in the service in the early 70's at that time you could not become pregnant and stay in the service. It changed shortly after that, by the time my son was born in 1977 there were maternity uniforms. All the military services go by the same regulations in regard to pregnancy. The issue for both men and women is their ability to be deployed, you have to prove that you have made provisions for your children to be cared for should you be deployed to a combat area.

Yes. My mother had me while she was in the Navy. I don't see why you couldn't have a baby while in the Air Force. The military has maternity benefits for expectant mothers just like every other employer.

What...yeah you can have kids while in the AF. If you are a single mother you will have to fill out a family care plan. This basically is a plan on what you will do with your child in the event that you have to deploy.

Yes, plenty of women in armed forces have children. They even have maternity outfits for women enlistees who get pregnant. Actually, of course, they'd prefer not having to support a bunch of dependents but they do all the time, so why not yours?

Why wouldnt he/she have kids? They can`t stop you for having kids, but If I was in the air force I wouldnt have kids because I wouldnt get to see them much.

of course you can have kids.....my husband is in the navy, and as they say "another one joined the fleet" when our son was born in april. they may try telling you that your limited to so many dependents, but if you splurge over your limit, they cant take away your dependents right, they have to cover you!
