Notice i say we, im not being anti-patriotic, im just wondering is there some type of disconnect that allows for us to go into 3rd world countries with brute force and be defeated? not counting crap like granadia we havent won a war since 1945, thats longer then its taken cleveland to win a world series! (i am against war, but im still curious why we have so much trouble winning one)

on January 21, 1977. president Jimmy Carter pardened the draft dodgers who went to live in Canada rather than obay their draft orders during the Viet Nam war those who in my opnion were a bunch of cowards and helped prolong the war.Should draft dogers be punished for turning their backs on their country rather then standing up for what they believe in?

Can one imagine the look on the war supporters face when we lose the war in Iraq ( AND WE WILL LOSE THE WAR ). All will walk as if they are constipated and they will all be eating crow. This Libreal ( Who is proud ) will say to them. "I told you so ".

Bush has said that we can't leave Iraq until WE feel that their government can run the country on their own. These people have never run a democracy, never run their own government, but our troops have to sit there and be under attack until they figure it out? This doesn't seem right, what if they CAN'T get it together? They can't even get the electricity back on!!! How can we expect these people to run a country ? And why do AMERICANS have to die while they figure it out?

It doesn't seem smart to me to leave the fate of our service men and women up to the Iraqi government, and we are.

I've seen at least 10 missiles in the sky this morning and it's still going on. Lots of explosions.
Any ideas? What kind of missiles would they be testing?

I first want to say that I have my own opinions about the U.S. War in Iraq; however they are irrelevant in this context. I am not trying to take a stand either way, only trying to understand both sides of the argument better.
So I hear from lots of people that they believe the War in Iraq is a mistake, that it is wrong, etc. I am wondering how people justify saying that.
And on the other side, for those of you who are totally for the war, how do you justify the war and why is it NOT a mistake and NOT wrong in your eyes?

I have always tried to be as "open minded" as possible and this topic is no exception.
Now, I dont want to hear the bashing of political leaders or the glorification of them, only the reasons why or why not the war is a good idea. Please answer with that in mind.
Thanks,

Since grade school, I've learn about the different types of war solders fought over the millennium, cold war, vietnam, WW1 and 2 etc. So what is this? Are we going to keep figthing for the same reason PEACE!, which I understand is never going to happen. So why keep fighting? So many people die, and many more will contiue to die, if this war carry on any longer. Personally I'm sick of it.

I talked to my Marine recruiter yesterday and mentioned that I have allergy-induced asthma. I should clarify that I have never had an attack, and although I used an inhaler when I was young, I have never used an inhaler (or any other asthma drug) since I was 12. My recruiter said that if I told the military physician that I had asthma, there was NO WAY they'd let me through. After that he implied that I should lie. He didn't say it outright, but he did say the following statements:
Lying to the military is not a felony.
My recruiter had personally lied about his criminal records, which would have disqualified him, and has kept his job.
One of his recruits lied about doing drugs, and drug test came back positive. Not only did the military not prosecute him, they allowed him to join 45 days later.
Another recruit had full blown asthma. She toughed it out through boot camp, then told the medics that she had asthma symptoms. They gave her an inhaler, and she wasn't kicked out.

Ok I accept that you played a major part in it, but there was no way it was all down to you. Look at the wars you have created recently where you have gone at it alone, or been running things. I'll start with Vietnam, then Iraq, now Afghanistan and back to Iraq.

US historical records shows that during independance WAR there were more French soldiers enrolled in the US Army than there were american enrolled.

It also showed that there more american enrolled in the British Army
than there were in the American army..

The reality is that the French won YOU, your freedom american people, there is nothing wrong with that for me as long as there is people of good will.. my next question is aimed at republican warmongers: Don't you think its time to eat your FREEDOM FRIES?

American extremism seem to have invaded some american with hatre toward other countries people. What does this relates to ? Is this caused by vaccination, a discease, propaganda or is this hatre just being cause by the realization that their " so proclaimed righteous "country is in the wrong ?

The Movie We Were Soldiers was based off the actual battle. I have talked with more than 30 actual heroes from the battle always trying to find more. 400 US soldiers of the 1/7, Against 4000 highly trained VC and the US came out with a win even tho the odds were well against them. I would like to talk with them if possible.
