killing is not wrong

murder is wrong

Death Penalty is an option

executing murders for their crimes is both retribution, a deterrent, and makes sure (at least) that that person won't be killing on the streets again.

If some folks say that it's not a deterrent, then fine, - it's retribution, I'm comfortable with that.

Because we don't necessarily kill people who kill people to show them that killing people is wrong, we kill people who kill people so they can't kill people any more. That's called self defense. We also kill people who kill people because it's justice. If you have a problem with that maybe you just have a problem with the concept of justice. There is one good argument why you may argue against attempting to kill the people who kill people and that is mistaken identity and the numbers of people who have been convicted of crime then later cleared by DNA evidence. There is no reparation enough to compensate for someone executed for a crime for which they are not guilty. Nevertheless, I remain in favor of the death penalty when it is proved that one is guilty to a high degree of ceretainty (including dna evidence), and also endorse it for more than murder. I believe it should be available for extreme acts of cruelty not resulting in death such as maiming, certain sex crimes especially child molestation etc. I know you wont agree with this answer but thanks for a great question anyway.

We kill people, who kill people, to show that killing people is wrong. Now do you get it ? A slap on the wrist doesn't usually work. Having a killer stand in a corner for an hour, doesn't work
Would anyone reward them, like furnishing them 77 virgins (female ) in the hereafter?

We kill people who kill people to show killing people is wrong so the people that kills people will learn not to kill anybody anymore. I hope that makes sense.

When a person kills another person it's called "murder". However, during the time of war, Army vs. Army, the soldier kills an animal not a person. A person which murders others is no longer a person, but animal.

Why do you think "to show killing people is wrong" is the purpose behind taking out someone like al-Zarqawi?

He wasn't killed to show that killing is wrong.

He was killed to stop him from killing anymore people.

It's kind of like...REVENGE!! I guess, Killing isn't always wrong. Like I strongly beleive in the death penalty. There you go, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. That's the way we run this country.

You got me. Is life precious, or not? There seems to be some serious social schizophrenia on this issue and we would all do better to either declare that ALL life is precious or that ALL life is not. Right now that decision is up to the person who commits the actual murder.
