There are definitely some eerie Big Brother/Cult of Personality vibes coming off the GOP these days. According to his apologists, Bush can do no wrong. To voice opposition to his policies is branded disloyalty. All his his lies are treated as gospel. Corruption, stealing elections ... advanced Fascism or Banana Republic, call it what you will.

Blatant disregard for the Constitution and the principles this country was founded upon: balance of powers, rule of law, separation of church and state, favoring corporations and the wealthy over the interest of the people ... the list goes on and on ...

no. it is instead the response to the growing socialist/communist movement in this country and the world at large.
I wouldn't say that we hate other countries, but we are starting to get fed up with a lot of the unjust criticism we take. This country has done more to help the rest of the world than any other, when there is a natural disaster, we're the first there to help, when there's civil unrest and human rights violations, we're the first to commit troops to bring peace. Yet we're continuously hammered in the world, for the smallest things. Mainly because we do things the American way, which is not the way the rest of the world does it, which is why they're nowhere near as prosperous as we are.

Yo Captain Morgan, the US donates more money and provides more help around the world, than any other Nation, and we very very rarely get as much as a "Thank you" in return. However, Americans usually get asked for more money when they visit other countries.

We who are born in America are Americans. People who legally immigrate, become naturalized, are Americans. If you follow family history, most American familys' origins can be traced to other countries or to Native tribes. Americans have created a new culture in the United States, we like it or atleast parts of it.
I can stand it when a foreigner comes to the US and says "you're lucky to have been born in the US" F U, I didn't choose to born here. That's a pretty rude thing to say, considering you're in my homeland and chances are I might never get to visit your's. If I do, will I be welcomed and as safe, as You who visit the US? I hope, but my experiences haven't been so.

Rather than allow this question to become nothing more than a festival of name-calling, let's start with a definition:

fas·cism n.

A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. (American Heritage Dictionary)

For "Republicanism" to = "Fascism", they would have to favor centralized government control of most facets of life, suppress opposition, and promote nationalism and racism. IMHO, the Republican party & its adherents do not favor centralization of the government in the domestic policy realm: apart from a few social issues such as gay marriage, the Republicans have generally favored smaller, less-intrusive government. And I don't find any evidence that the Republicans have taken any measures to suppress or censor opposition: they might talk louder than the opposition, but they do not supress it. Additionally, I could see the Republican party attempting to capitalize on nationalistic feelings, but I think they generally fall well short of promoting racism.

Even though I admittedly am not a fan of the Republican party, I think calling them "fascist" is going too far & might be insulting to those who have actually lived under fascist regimes (I've never lived under a fascist regime, but I imagine what we face in the U.S. under one-party rule is peanuts in comparison.)

The hate towards other people stems from a few Muslims kills thousands of innocent Americans. The problem is with the people that practice Islam only a small amount are extremist. But out of billions of people and small amount adds up to millions of people. Our government has pissed of the rest of the world, yes. But if they have a problem with our government take it out on them and not innocent Americans. That is why we attack Muslims, because the started it and if we don't go after them they will continue to go after us.

Wow, another liberal who loves himself but hates his country. Are you American? I wonder. Maybe your a citizen, maybe not, but your certainly not an American. Do you know what a "fascist" really is? I wonder.

Well, a fascist has a political philosophy that believes in a movement that that puts race above individual rights; that stands for a centralized government. Hmmm, sounds like a Democrat to me.
