US historical records shows that during independance WAR there were more French soldiers enrolled in the US Army than there were american enrolled.
It also showed that there more american enrolled in the British Army
than there were in the American army..
The reality is that the French won YOU, your freedom american people, there is nothing wrong with that for me as long as there is people of good will.. my next question is aimed at republican warmongers: Don't you think its time to eat your FREEDOM FRIES?

Calm down....We appreciate the help but don't forget that we paid the French back already. If not for us, the French would all be speaking German right now. I'd say we are even.

If it were not for the help of Lafayette and other Frenchmen in the Revolutionary War, the British would have won. Still, independence would have come in a few years, when Bolivar and San Martin liberated South America from Spain. They would have continued their war up North, since they believed in a Free America.
However, if the US had not rescued France TWICE from the Germans (WWI and WWII), the country would not exist as we know it.
So, French help has been more than repaid. In this day, France has sold nuclear technology to Iran...
As to the "Freedom Fries" I suggest that we use an accurate name: "Belgian Fries", since these were invented in Belgium, not France!

Historical records ???? Where do you get those records from ? All sort of claims can be made, but get your nose in the books before you make claims. Yep LaFayette came over and helped in the revolution, he wasn't much more than a kid at the time. Because he was a marqui, he was made general. He didn't have that many troops.
I fought in the front line infantry across the whloe country of France. Don't tell me that the French were great fighters. I never saw a Frenchman making any attempt to fight for his own country. The Schweinhunds walked through France practically unapposed. We had to fight for every inch of France, then turn it over to the glorious French army, who did nothing but hide until the war was won. Viva la cowardly France.

Having lived in Europe for way too long I have a few things to say on the topic.
The French are a wonderful, warm and friendly people. I can say that only the Germans are nicer. They make some wonderful food and the second greatest wine in the world ( The greatest being Franken Wine from Germany.). They make wonderful movies and great music. They have good schools and beautiful country side. I must say that if you have never been to France for just a few days you are missing out.
As to their military. They much like their American counterparts have some very strong soldiers. They have a well funded military and state of the art weapons. They are rough, tough and ready to defend France. It would be tough for any country on earth today to invade France with out being turned into radioactive dust.
The French have been our longest and closest allies. They stood by us during our bid for freedom. And so did they love us they gave us our most beautiful woman. Our statue of liberty. They stood by us during all of our conflicts. Today many French men and women understand the reasoning behind the war on terror and on 9/11 the French paper La Mond published across their front page. Today we are all Americans.
They have been here for us like a brother for over 200 years. You don't always agree with your brother but you will always defend him. You may call your brother and idiot and pick on him but if i were to do it then i will quickly get a black eye for my troubles.
The French and American people have much in common. We love our freedom. We hold our lands in high regard. And we shall never turn our back on our family.
We earned our freedom with French soldiers, we gave freedom with ours.

Excuse me? Are you talking about Lafayette? Since we saved France's hide in TWO wars I think you owe us one! If not for American and the French underground Hitler would have had all of your country plus! We seem to be Frances allies only when you need us. Seems pretty one sided to me. Read your history. There were no Americans at the time of the revolution. Just a rag tag group of disenfranchised people. After the war we became America.I really think the French need a reality lesson. They are not the only people in this world.

The French didn't always suck.... without their help, we probably wouldn't have been able to survive a protracted war against the militarily superior British...
We repayed the kindness 2 times over... (damn Germans)
But you're pretty much still a baggadouche for ragging on the Republicans in a totally unrelated question...

I see a comedian "vaudeville" style. Talk about ancient history. The french king didn't help us out with nothing to gain. France was tired of being invaded by the british and sat on the fence till cornwallis was beaten b4 commiting any help. Besides if king louis had been forward thinking he would have changed his mine. It's well established that the american revolution helped the impoverished french to see that a cruel monarchy can be over thrown. She "marie" said let them eat cake and they replied "off with their heads"

French and the word heroic don't even go together. I'm sorry but the United States was the heroic ones that stop Hitler from taking over France.
The French wouldn't help in Iraq but I bet when it comes to rebuilding it they will be there with their hands out.
And YES I do love my FREEDOM FRIES.

Don't you think the French were a little self-interested as well? Do you think they wanted their "good buddies" the British to retain control of the American colonies?
History has less to do with freedom than it does with realpolitik.

Aren't the French the only people that have an arch of triumph, but have never been able to march through it?
Are you speaking German? I think the debt is repayed 10-fold.
Anymore questions?
