for those in California can anybody tell me if is true that if you don't have your seat belt on when you driving, you can get a ticket just like that ?
because what I know is that you can get a ticket only if the police pull you over for other reason and he see's that you don't have the seat belt on that's when he can give you a ticket for not having the belt on my brother was arguing with me about it

My brother was arrested and they took him in for " DUI", at least that was the only thing they could get him on. He had a beer about 2-3 hours before leaving to go to the store. When he was pulled over the cop said he smelled "pot" He blew all zeros on the breath test. and the only "test" he didn't do so well was the heel to toe test. They had him on a slant with mulch all around. On the was into the jail, the officer stopped to pick up some little boy. Can they do this???? And he wouldn't take a blood test or anything like that. It wasn't because he had been smoking, but the fact that is would show up for another time than this one. Were the cops wrong in anyway, mostly to get a child to ride along? Please some answers!!!! Thanks

So in less than one year my dad has already had 3 speeding tickets. This most recent one was from a crooked cop. He was only going 73 but the cop jot him down for 78. What can we do? And is that enough points to get his license suspended?

I valet parked at a restaurant, did not see a sign saying something to extent that I have to remain on restaurant premise or else I would be towed. I parked there, went walking around for few hours and returned. My car was still there and the attendent claimed that he had just called the tow truck and said if I didn't pay him the $75 fee to cancel the tow truck that my car would be towed. I do not believe that he had called a tow truck, however, he would not give me my keys until I paid him the $75, and demanded cash. What options do I have with this valet company? Can I file a case with the police department for extortion? I have a valet receipt that says I paid them $75. Thinking about calling consumer watch group or newsstation because they did this to me, I'm sure they have done it to many others and pocketing $75 cash each time!!Frustrating! any advice really appreciated. Thanks in advance

My friend might have a warrant for his arrest in a different county and state than the one we live in. How can I check online if he has a warrant? Do I have to call that counties sheriff's department?

I was arrested for brech o peace and a protective order was brought against me that neither me nor my wife wanted. Once the protective order was in place we may or may not have continued to live together. One day while my wife was yelling for the kids to get ready neighbors called police thinking she was yelling at me. We explained to police nothing happened but they later found out I wasnt supposed to be there and now want to get a warrant for violation of protective order. The day after I "violated" my original breech of peace was nollied and the charges and protective order dropped. So what will the bond be if there is one and what is the likely hood the judge will even sign this given one day later everything was dropped?

I was currently placed on probation and and my probation officer seems to be coming up with all these different programs and groups and what not. It's getting very expensive and none of it was ordered by the judge, she's just coming up with something new every month it seems.

Today, she called my wife and asked her to come in to talk to her while I was at work. My wife went in and my P.O. proceeded to tell her my offense and showed her the police report (which she refused to show to me by the way). Anyway, nothing came out of it, because I already told my wife everything, but could this be construed as harassment, or am I crazy?

Since when do cops performing in the line of duty get indicted? What kind of message does this send? Al Sharpton, the race pimp who set up the system with the Tawana Brawley hoax. How can good people watch and let this go by? All that results from this is cops become afraid to enforce the law, thus black and crimes prosper. What do you think of this?
