my friend is an idiot, and got caught at his college last january for having a ton of pot in his dorm room. he got kicked out of the dorms but not the school and had to go to jail for a night. his parents are pretty rich, however, and their lawyer got him out of jail and on probation for a year. he was doing really well and then today he got caught stealing from bloomingdales and he's still on probation until january. does anyone know what this will possibly mean for him?

If a judge or jury ruled out that adeath penalty sentence for someone how does this make you feel?

Do you think it's right? If you think the death penalty such as lethal injection or the electric chair is ok then how do you feel about the person that is responsible for making it happen?
Should the person starting the lethal injection or turning on the electric chair be responsible for the death of that person?

Do you not agree with the death penalty? If you don't agree with the death penalty then what are your thoughts about those repeat sex offenders or rapist? What do you think we should do with them?

Okay, this is the story. I'm 16, I dropped out of school. I turned 16 Dec 8th. My parents gave me permission to move out of the house, which I did. My parents live in Connecticut, while I'm In Pennsylvania. I live with my boyfriend and his mother. The question is, legal documents. I already have a checking account, but things like registering a car, and getting my permit. I got my parents to sign at a notary permission for me to get my permit. The notary seal says that its Connecticut though, will the Dmv still accept that? I've looked through their website and didn't find any answers. Also they might require me proof of residence, and they said that you can't use bills that aren't utilities. No cell phone or anything like that. Is there anything else I could use that they might accept? I just don't want to go there and get turned down, wasting my time, and having my parents give guardian to my boyfriend, or boyfriend's mother is not an option, I don't trust them being my guardians. This would also apply to all documents I have to sign in the future. I know there is emancipation. Although I would have to prove I have a job which I don't have yet, although I'm working on it. I know the steps to be emancipated although I don't know how long you must hold a job and live on your own for the judge to grant you permission

I am pro-death penalty. Taxpayer money should not go to house, clothe, and feed hardened criminals. They only deserve swift justice of death. What do you all think?

Police are entrusted with the duty of investigation and collecting evidence to prove the guilt of the accused in a court of law and in accordance with law. For this purpose, they are entrusted with enormous powers . Too often, this power is abused and misused and torture is inflicted on any suspected person. Police often believe that this is necessary to find out the truth but then even an innocent will "confess to his crime" unable to bear the pain of third degree methods...
HOW CAN VIOLENCE BY LAW-ENFORCING AGENCIES BE JUSTIFIED ? Can the police take law into their own hands and for their own purposes ? Does Law permit this ?
What then is the solution ?

My husband and I bought a $2900.00 western union to a third party name Juan Peredes from Worldpay. Last night, I've been expecting response about the arrival of our shipment. So far, I was curious about Worldpay, and did my research. Finally, I acknowledged there were stories that related alike as ours in scam.com and we were also those victims. Now, that the holidays are here, we were expecting for a 1995 Nissan 300zx to arrive to our doorstep, instread we were foolishly tricked by scammers. Yet, money is money and we all worked hard for it. We don't deserved to be decieved of this kind of deception. I just wished we knew this earlier. And the crook behind this, should repay this kind of crime in jail. Please, I want to notify to all victims, who are in the same situation, to help elimate this kind of scam.

Sent e-mail from personal acct. to coworker, while I wasn't on company premises but coworker was. Subject of e-mail was about third person, another coworker. Incriminating e-mail originated from public computer, sent from private acct. to a company acct. Message received by coworker through company account, on company computer. Content of message was moderately disparaging of third person. 2 months passes, coworker who received e-mail dismissed for unrelated issue, computer is scanned, e-mail is found. Third person (subject of e-mail) is daughter of owner of company. I am dismissed for making disparaging comments regarding owner's daughter. Is dismissal against Michigan law or Federal law?

As he was ripping plaster from bathroom-wall studs, Kitts found bundles of bills totaling $182,000 wrapped in pre-World War II Plain Dealer news pages and tucked into boxes. The money is in such good condition, and some of the bills are so rare and collectible, that one currency appraiser valued the treasure at up to $500,000, Kitts said.

But there's a hitch:

The walls from which Kitts pulled the money aren't his walls. The house isn't his house. Nobody knows for certain whose money it is.

When Bob Kitts and Amanda Reece first tallied the 70-year-old currency that Kitts found hidden in Reece's bathroom walls, they were gleeful. Now, they're feuding.

My husband's grandmother gave out quite a bit of money this year for Christmas. My husband's check ended up being for $12,000. His mom has the check in her possession, and will not give it to my husband. The check is made out from my husband's grandmother to him. His mother took him to the bank and tried to get him to sign the check over to her. She told him that she was going to put all $12,000 in a savings account in her name so he couldn't have access, and said that he couldn't have any of it. My husband refused to sign the check obviously, but she still has it. My husband and I are both deploying to Iraq in 2 days. She is mad that he didn't finish college this semester, and that's her reasoning to try to take the money. Some of the money could be used right now so we don't have to worry about paying bills online while deployed. She is a lawyer and a judge, but my husband and I are curious. Is it legal for her to hold a personal check from my husband's grandmother to him?

I met a man a little over a year ago. We hit it off and he moved into my house about 4 months ago. Shortly after I started to find little signs that he was smoking pot. I confronted him and he said he didn't do it very often not to worry about it. I'm total against it and will not allow it in my house or around my daughter. He brushed it off. I insisted that I won't tolerate it. For a wile I didn't see anymore signs but kept my eyes open. Last week I found little pot on the desk in my bedroom. We work different shifts so we don't see each other during the week. I confronted him again and told him I wanted him to leave. I can't except the sneaking around behind my back when I flat out told him I wanted nothing to do with it and he must have had it in my house again. My problem is that he said this is his residence and I have to go to court and get a 30 day eviction notice like he was a tenant. I live in FL. and don't know the laws. Do I have to do all that? Please help

If you parked your car in a business parking lot and it happened to get stolen, is it the city or business that is responsible for that lot?

*Didn't happen to me, just had a dispute with the wife on who's land that would belong to. I say it's the business fault for not having proper surveillance and she says that its a city claim.

A detective spoke with me about unemployment overpayment and I wrote the statement admitting to it because I had already sent in a letter to Employment Security stating what happened, why and that I was going to pay it back with my taxes. Now, they have opened a case and the detective told me that he went to the prosecutor's office yesterday. I am trying desperately to find an attorney because I don't want to be incarcerated over the holidays and leave my son alone. I spoke with one attorney and he said, he'll take the case but I needed $500.00 down, problem is, I don't have that kind of money just laying around. I'll pay it, but I don't know what kind of time I have to get that together before the warrant is issued. Would it do any good to call the detective and ask him if the warrant's been issued? I don't want them coming to my job. Please help with any information or advice you can think of.

I appreciate it greatly.

a good portion of our boundary fence fell over from high winds. we share the fence with 2 neighbors. one neighbor (where the fence is broken) has agreed to replace the old wood fence with cement blocks. problem is: our other neighbor whom we share 25 feet of fence will not return our calls. he rents out the house and lives elsewhere. we've sent a letter and he finally called us and mentioned his concern about the cement blocks and then the phone hung up abruptly. ever since, we have not been able to contact him to finalize details. i really think hes avoiding us. we are not the only ones whos had a great deal of trouble getting in contact with him. does anyone know if we can go ahead and replace the 25 feet of fence we share with this neighbor with out his final approval??? please help as this has been truly frustrating.

I think that child support should be 50/50 split between the two parents evenly.....I really see no reason for the unequality of child support, I mean after all it is the woman who makes the final decision........NOT the man ,who really has no say at all, though He will be paying at least 75% of what it costs to rear a child that will eventually be warped by the mothers audacious slander......Why is it ok to punish a man for having sex outside of a marriage....but on the other hand reward the woman for her mis-deeds........And why is it that when the man has no fatherly rights to take a child even for a day, but if the child is harmed in the mothers care the father can/will be brought up on charges for not stopping something he had no real control over!?!? (<---that came out of the mouth of a lawyer---^)

Any polite insight will be greatly appreciated.
