Actually, it costs more in public defender legal bills and court costs for prisoner's who have the right to an endless appeals system that are on death row. They average about 20 years on death row.
The avergae cost of a death row conviction is 2-3 million!!!
So if the death penalty is abolished, we will pay less taxes.

Sorry, the death penalty costs more...
Would the people who are in favor of the death penalty be willing to outlaw it so we can have lower taxes?
or maybe the people who support the death penalty should be taxed more to pay for it?
How about charging an annual fee to criminals who are in prison for life and having them work off the money while in jail? have them pay for their room and board by working?
We could also assign financial penalties as well as jail time in criminal cases. Murder someone and you get 20 years in jail and a whopping fine which means the state seizes all of your assets to help pay for your incarceration---the gov't sells your car + house and cleans out your bank account.

It is very unlikely that those opposing anything supported by taxes will not have to contribute their money. Abolishing the death penalty will not solve society's problems with those deserving of it. However, if it is determined that this is right, then my taxes will go where my government designates.

those on death row cost 5 times what it cost for those who serve life. many convicted and sentenced to death never are executed. it would be cheaper to just not fool with death penalty and save all the cost involved in numerous appeals, separate cells, extra guards, segregated facilities et-cetra.
what would be a better option is to improve our justice system to insure that we can be confident in convictions. set a very specific set of guidelines for use of death penalty and then it will become simple.
1 conviction
1 appeal
1 execution

Fallacy. it cost far more to deal with a death penalty case than it does a life without parole case. See http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/FactSheet.pdf look for the section "FINANCIAL FACTS ABOUT THE DEATH PENALTY"
