I think that child support should be 50/50 split between the two parents evenly.....I really see no reason for the unequality of child support, I mean after all it is the woman who makes the final decision........NOT the man ,who really has no say at all, though He will be paying at least 75% of what it costs to rear a child that will eventually be warped by the mothers audacious slander......Why is it ok to punish a man for having sex outside of a marriage....but on the other hand reward the woman for her mis-deeds........And why is it that when the man has no fatherly rights to take a child even for a day, but if the child is harmed in the mothers care the father can/will be brought up on charges for not stopping something he had no real control over!?!? (<---that came out of the mouth of a lawyer---^)
Any polite insight will be greatly appreciated.

AND SHE IS THE ONE WHO IS DANGEROUS MAKING CALLS THREATENING TO KILL THE FATHER BECAUSE HE WOULDN'T TALK TO HER ON MOTHERS DAY, SHE EVEN ADMITS THAT THE CHILD MIGHT NOT BE HIS AND DOES NOT CARE! SHE HAS HER MONEY BUT SHE ALSO WANTS HIM BACK, SO ON TOP OF HER CALLS, AT THE COURT HOUSE SHE DEMANDED THAT THE FATHER DRIVE ALL THE WAY TO MELBOURNE FROM FT.PIERCE TO "SEE" THE KID ON TOP OF PAYING CHILD SUPPORT, SHE REFUSED TO MEET HIM HALFWAY ON ANYTHING AND SHE FREAKED OUT AND STARTED SCREAMING AT EVERYONE IN THE HALLWAY TO THE COURT HOUSE.......SHE IS 100% PSYCHOTIC.......

I'm so surprised that someone out there agrees with something that has been my own personal issue for years. I'm still in charge of 78% of my ex-wife (divorced 8 yrs ago) household income. The problem is that since then I got re-married and I can'r hardly support my family, while my ex and my kids from that marriage live very comfortable lives. Not fair, not fair at all.

child support is generally based on who has more physical custody. that person spends more money on the child and requires financial support from the other parent that has a duty to the child. since mothers have more physical custody of children, the fathers end up paying child support.
in our system, if a father ends up with physical custody, then he has just as much a right to child support as a mother.
it is not as unequal against women as you think. look at how Kevin Federline made out with Britney Spears based on their marriage and children
EDIT:
I'm convinced you're either the father posing as a woman or the new girlfriend/wife pissed that he has to spend on his child. You ask for 'polite' advice and then proceed to lambaste everyone giving their point of view.
I couldn't care less about your feelings. The most important factor here and in every single family court in this country is the welfare and best interests of that child. If the guy had problem with support, then he should not have helped conceive the child.

Wow, somebody messed you up. First of all, it is supposed to be 50/50. Child support is dad giving his half of the child rearing expenses. And not all men are left out of the decision process- my father was very much involved, as are most. It is the mother who decides to be a controlling ***** in these cases. And how is this rewarding the mother for her mis-deeds? My mother left an unhappy situation where she was being cheated on- what did she do wrong? Nothing! My dad was the one cheating. And he was not "punished" for that, but made to support his child.
And that last part is total bull- the lawyer who said that is a moron. I don't remember anything being said to my dad after my car accident (oh wait, because I was not in his care then!)My father had me quite often, and if something special came up, as long as my mother had advance notice(which in some cases was 2 hours!) she had no problem. The problem you are talking about here is a vindictive woman out to make him pay and not thinking about what is best for her kids, and a dad who is either not fighting it or a court system that won't let him. Either way it is very messed up.

no, i dont agree it should be a 50/50 split
the custodial parent have more daily responsibilities. the child must eat, be clothed, have a place to live, electricity, school supplies, hair cut/style etc.
some people think child support should be used only for the child (clothes etc) but it takes other things (as i mentioned above) and that is used towards the support of the child and a parent having to do that on a 50/50 just wont cut it.

Not all people paying child support are men. With the exception of celebrities, I have not seen anyone paying 75% of what it costs to raise a child. I have paid child support and my wife receives from her ex, and neither came close to this percentage.

if parents have equal salary, both of them have the opportunity on a 50-50 split. no question as to the custody of the mother. The rationale behind this is that a mother's agony for letting a child be taken away from her is immeasurable...
as to the father being away from them, does not mean that responsibility is to the extent of financial support only. he needs to know how's the kid going. but if that father is restrained from seeing his kid by being a threat to both mother and child, it is illogical to be held responsible for any outcome between said mother and child.

Would agree if trust funds were established that both have to contribute court fixed amounts: one for health care and one for schooling.
