I met a man a little over a year ago. We hit it off and he moved into my house about 4 months ago. Shortly after I started to find little signs that he was smoking pot. I confronted him and he said he didn't do it very often not to worry about it. I'm total against it and will not allow it in my house or around my daughter. He brushed it off. I insisted that I won't tolerate it. For a wile I didn't see anymore signs but kept my eyes open. Last week I found little pot on the desk in my bedroom. We work different shifts so we don't see each other during the week. I confronted him again and told him I wanted him to leave. I can't except the sneaking around behind my back when I flat out told him I wanted nothing to do with it and he must have had it in my house again. My problem is that he said this is his residence and I have to go to court and get a 30 day eviction notice like he was a tenant. I live in FL. and don't know the laws. Do I have to do all that? Please help

Well legally I think an eviction may be the best thing to do. However, you could change the locks while he is at work, pack his stuff and put it all by the dumpster. Then when he comes back, gets mad and calls the cops, you can deny he lives there. Also, you might find his stash and call the police yourself.

Becareful what ever you do. If he lies and uses drugs, there is no telling what he may be capable of doing.

He is correct, you have to evict him. However, you can contact the police and tell them you found drugs in your house that you believe belong to him. Getting arrested may give him the incentive he needs to move. After he is arrested, you could also get a order of protection to keep him away. The order can be based on his "introducing an illegal substance in to your home."

Get some friends together while he is away, put all his stuff on the sidewalk and wait for his return. If he puts up a fight call the cops and have your friends back you up on any info you tell them. Get a restraining order.

He won't leave on his own, you have to formally evict him.

If he is not on the lease and not on the deed....AND if he does not pay you rent...HE is a guest....Tell him either leave or you will call the cops to have him removed and tell them about his pot possession......I dont think he wants them there if he has pot....if they come he may be arrested if it was around your daughter...he could even be in worse shape

uh...you're not married, he's not on the deed or lease; he's a guest. Tell him to hit the door; and call the police if he doesn't. Start with letting them know you want him out because of his drug usage.

Yes you do. You have to evict him. Call your Justice of the Peace's office and ask them the proper procedure because you can get in trouble if you dont do it right.

Contact your local police department. There might be some loop holes to get him out sooner since he is a drug addict. They will help you out.
