I ordered an £80 jacket from an ebay seller on November 12th...the seller didnt bother mailing it untill 21st of November but assurred it would be sent guarenteed Christmas delivery. He went a mailed the item, but got no tracking number and no idea at all of an estimateed delivery date....i lived in america for a year and know for a fact that if you send something by post you get an option in how many days it gets delivered.....It is still not here and i emailed the seller many times and finally asked him if he would offer a refund if it didnt make it for xmas and he replied with I POSTED THE ITEM TO THE GIVEN ADDRESS...WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? I am now in the position that i dont have anything to give this person for Christmas, cant afford to buy anything else....is there anything i can do?? Does this seller owe me anything or is this totally my won problem?

it's not Christmas yet it may still arrive in time
did you use pay-pal? if you don't receive the item contact them they can handle the dispute. as far as a refund for not getting before Christmas, did the seller advertise you would receive before Christmas? if not you can't use that as a reason for a refund. where is the seller located and where are you? you state you lived(past tense) in America so i assume you don't now. you also state he posted(not a common phrase in America) the item so i assume the seller is not in America either so how American mail works would have no bearing.

I had a similiar problem this summer. I filed a complaint with both ebay AND paypal. If you used paypal you should be covered if you asked for it to be delivered to the address you have on file with paypal. BUT the seller is not responsible for how long something takes to get to you. This time of the year the mail is VERY slow. NEVER buy anything from someone who will not do delivery confirmation or provide a tracking number. Good luck! (Tell the person you bought it for that you ordered something and it just won't be there in time for the holidays...I am sure they will understand.)

Did the seller guarantee in the ad on eBay that the jacket would be shipped in time to arrive before Christmas for deliveries outside of the US? If not, receiving the jacket after Christmas may not be grounds for a refund. However, the time it took to ship may be an issue. eBay has posted on the site specific complaint processes. I would start there.

Go to MY EBAY and I think on the side there is a button to go to if you haven't received your item. This happened to me last Christmas. Totally freaky, but anyway, just report it and eBay will take care of it for you. Good Luck!
