A detective spoke with me about unemployment overpayment and I wrote the statement admitting to it because I had already sent in a letter to Employment Security stating what happened, why and that I was going to pay it back with my taxes. Now, they have opened a case and the detective told me that he went to the prosecutor's office yesterday. I am trying desperately to find an attorney because I don't want to be incarcerated over the holidays and leave my son alone. I spoke with one attorney and he said, he'll take the case but I needed $500.00 down, problem is, I don't have that kind of money just laying around. I'll pay it, but I don't know what kind of time I have to get that together before the warrant is issued. Would it do any good to call the detective and ask him if the warrant's been issued? I don't want them coming to my job. Please help with any information or advice you can think of.

I appreciate it greatly.

1. They may issue a summons rather than an arrest warrant. 2. It may be an offense where they'll release you on your own recognizance (It helps if you have a driver's license and voter's registration card) 3. They may not do anything until after the holidays.

Try calling a bondsman & saving his number & alert someone who can post the bond for you. Then if you are arrested he can get you out immediately.

If there is a detective involved it is not a case of "an unemployment overpayment", it is case of fraud. My wife got an extra 2 weeks of unemployment because she misread the question on the form about earnings. They just let her pay it back.

If "U" do not have the $$$$ ...like me..[I used my credit cards 2 pay $6,500 up-front just 4 him 2 show at the precinct and first day in court]..."BUT"...u ...can ask 4 a "Public" attorny 2 deffend "U"[which is 4 free] and 4 your good behavior U'll be released & promise 2 pay back the $$$money in a sertain period of time....pretend that was not your fault and "U" did not payed attantion 2 finance properly...not enough experience with that........GOOD LUCK.....

that's not an definitely indictment. The so-referred to as "indictment" became via an advert hoc "electorate' Grand Jury," a non-genuine conservative opinion mouthpiece. it fairly is a pretend grand jury, not a real one.
