Hi, I currently work at D D and I was fired today. I work my hours every week, do everything that is asked even if I disagree with it weather its the manager or not. Today I was giving a warning for leaving before someone else came to do their shift for last week, this is not the first time that the person did not show up and also I have waited up to 2 hours for them to get to do their shift and even sometimes fill in last minute canceling all my plans that I had schedualed. Today the same thing happened I had to go right after work and here it is 1 hour after my shift ended, the person called and avoided me and told another worked that he wasn't comming in. I still looked for someone to fill in for him but no one and I had things to do and places to go. Everyone their does what they want like not comming in and leaving when ever they want and I do it once I get into trouble.Am I obligated to work another persons shift and or can I be fired for not taking over another persons shi

She has had a virus every other week, with fevers, vommittg, wheezing, etc. My daycare said that Bush passed a new law... But I dont know of anything besides the family leave act. I am pretty new here and am on a 90 day probationary period. Theu just gave me another 90 days of probation though, so they are giving me another shot to get it together. But I have no one to care for my daughter if she keeps getting all these illnesses from day care. HELP!

I have joint legal custody of my 2 children and have not gotten any deductions since my divorce. My ex-wife has always gotten both children to deduct. I heard it is a federal law that the physical custodial parent gets to claim them.

I am a victim of domestic violence. I lost my job due to stress, lost my apartment, dont have any family in this country at all, no money and with the freezing temps had to go live with my mother inlaw. My mother inlaw got temp custody through the police of my daughter because I could not support her. So my daughter is there now so I can be her mother again.

The only thing is my ex is there. He has a restraining order and is not allowed to come near me. I should not be there but I have absolutely nowhere to go. Cant get help with social services because I am a permanent resident and you sacrifice your residency when you get help with social services.

My question is to any lawyer or someone who knows about this stuff is if he beats on me (lastnight he punched me in the throat and I got it on recording) and I call the cops can I get arrested for being there when he is the one with the restraining order not me? Thanks.

After 911, anyone having children in the U.S. should be legal before having legalized children.
What do you think?
This is not discrimination since most illegal people came on their own and wasn't brought here for slavery (like my ancestors were hundreds of years ago). All of my ancestors learned English, we carried it on, and we speak it today.
After 400 years of Slavery the situation was different.
Do you think it can be compared with today's situations for immigrants?

I cannot find any specific information, until we contact the Alabama dept. of Labor, does anyone know what the law is regarding vacation time/pay? My husband has earned over a week of paid vacation (per the handbook signed when he hired on) and his boss is saying he isn't going to give it to him because he doesn't have the money right now...he has been asking for it for quite some time and keeps getting the same response. I believe that by law he has to pay him the money but I am curious what the law says for Alabama. Also, what if he quits or gets fired? Any information, or websites with information, on this specific subject for our state would be GREATLY appreciated.

My youngest bonus daughter is multiply disabled and wears a scoliosis brace (my hubby has physical custody and he and her mom have joint legal). Her bio mom has repeatedly admitted to not putting the brace on her like she is supposed to. However, she only has her one day a week (her choice) and overnight just a few nights a year. Daughter’s ortho said that one day a week wouldn't make that big of a difference so in the interest of peace we haven't made a big deal out of it. Here's the problem: She's having scoliosis surgery in May to correct her curve and after the surgery she HAS to wear her brace (a few months) and this time there could be major problems if she doesn't. Bio mom has a LONG history of ignoring doctors, us and everyone else that "tells" her what to do with her child. We are really afraid she will not use the brace like she should.

I received a call from some guy who was supposedly a lawyer representing citi bank, about 6 months ago. and he demanded that i settle my depts by sending hundreds of dollars a month, at the time I was not working and had no money at all ( which caused me to be in dept)
well, i didnt and he vanished.
Now recently another guy called me, with the same tactics.
he says the citi bank is filing against me and asked if I had a lawyer i said no. so he ask if i would like to settle this out of court. i said sure, how do i do that? and he said i need to pay up 2,000 dollars. i said cant do that. thats all the money currently in my account and i have bills to pay.(like loans, cell bills and rent, plus food). i asked him, when this be filed and when i will have to go to court, he said with in 72 hrs . he got nasty and disrespectful. so i hung up the phone.
he also mentioned that i will have to pay THEIR COURT FEES! what? is that true? and are they really going to take me to court?

I was initially sentenced to go to court on a FTY ticket, in which I pleaded not guilty. The person that was suppose to go to court about the case never showed up. So the judge threw this case out. Months later, I received notice that I'm now being taking to small claims court about vehicle damages. Can this person try and use the FTY against me even though the judge through this case out (because of his no show)? AND if he doesn't show up for this court case. About how many times can he initiate going to court and wasting my time about this issue?

Thanks!!

In what instances is it legal and illegal?

If I have the money to buy many Super Bowl tickets and sell them for 500% of what the face value is, it is considered illegal.

But Hannah Montana tickets are not? There was this man near the entrance, where I took my niece to watch the show, the value of the ticket was $25(back seats) but he sold for $130-$160 and people were buying them.

Is there a price range for it to be consider illegal, because of the greedy government?

In July my husband and his father got into an argument and my father in law called my husband some really nasty names. Then a week later his mother did the samething. My in laws have been trying to manipulate us since the day we got married and have said some mean things and have done horrible things to us. Not knowing how to handle the situation went for counsoling and it was recommended since we have 4 young to children to "love from a distance" until they can behave. Since July they have made no effort to see our children not even a phone call. So the other day was suprised to get Christimas cards from them with a 50 check for each my children with a note saying that they are praying that their parents would let them visit. We chose not have a close relationship with them because of their verbal abuse towards us in front of children should we give the money back due to the nasty note or keep for my children who are 4,3,2,and 9 months
