the scene is not uncommon.MLAs/MPs are seen bull fighting to resolve the issue of national importance. my question is - is this a colonial hang over or influence of our 5000 years of glorious past?

I am speaking of the murder of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1995, for which O.J. Simpson was aquitted for murder. Aquit means to free or clear from a charge or accusation. How can one (anyone) then be charged with civil grounds? I guess I am looking for some legal knowledge/ clarification. Thanks

I have situation that I acted very naive about and I am now in a lot of trouble. I thought someone was my friend and I helped them put an engagment ring on my jewelery credit card they agreed at the time they would pay on the ring. Well they only paid like two times on the ring and now the ring is double the amount then when we purchased it because of late payment fees and the interest. They will not pay on it or return the ring back to me. Can I press theft charges on these people since they will not give the ring back? Because it is still in my name on my credit card and the bill is still coming to me so wouldn't it be my property and they have it in their possesion? Is there anything I can do?!?

If the woman wasn't in possession of actual illicit drugs, on what charges did they arrest her?

I think the only ruls should be that an establishment has to CHOOSE if they are a smoke friendly place or not. They would have to have a sing on the entrance saying so. and their ads would say No Smoking if they didn't allow it.

I think this way owners get to run their buisnesses the way they want.

If you don't like smoking then you can go somewhere else. NOBODY has the RIGHT to a smoke free bar or restarant. You are not forced to go there and they are not forced to feed you.

Now I agree that smoking sections are the dumbest thing in the world because that's pointless. The smoke's going to go all over the room.

But I think they should be allowed to choose if they allow smoking or not.

It should be the owners choice.

I'm wondering if there's any laws against doing so, as a form of invasion of privacy. Are there laws protecting one's HIV status from publication or exposing?

short he had a gun and he moved. from his aunts to another house to be with me. Well his aunt got mad and ended up calling the cops. Well the gun is in her name but he paid for it. The only reason that it is in her name is because he couldn't actually get a gun and he isn't supposed to have a gun. Well they decided to get him for theft. The cop took the gun and left. My boyfriend is not sure if he will now have to go to court or not. What is the cost he could end up with if he does go to court? They are waiting to find out if his aunt and uncle want ot press charges before they decide if he has to go to court. So say they do press charges what will be the punishment? Jail? For how long? For having a gun with a felony or for stealing? He has proof with a check that he is the one that paid for the gun. Please help.

I'm 17. I'm considering emancipating myself from my parents. I no longer live with my parents, and im currently looking for a job. I know those two things are required before going to court. My father is an alcoholic and my mother is a convicted felon who has left my family 3 times. My parents have always neglected me and cant even make it without the assistance of my grandparents. Is there anyway my case could hold up in court? If so is there anyway I could just get a portion of my grandparents money back for them?

My dad is currently in a low security prison. His health hasnt been good lately. For the past month he has been experiencing symptoms such as head burning, yellow enlarged tounge, hand/feet feel too warm, frequent bowel after eating and drinking,, cant really poop and bloatness. It all started when he fainted 4 times. He has seen the doctor and been tested. Blood test and MRI came out normal but he continues to feel the symptoms. Doctor gave him sleeping pills (he couldnt sleep..one night he could then the next he couldnt. it was like a pattern) and antibotics and they dont help much. First he thought it was all in his head but he relaxes and still doesnt feel any better. He's afraid if they continue then it's gonna threaten his health/life
I called his defense lawyer to see if there's anything he can do like contacting the prison to get him furthur treatment at an outpatient medical center. He advised me to call my dad's counselor and talk to him/her about it. :\

Can anyone recommend a good employment attorney in the Bay Area of Northern CA. Preferably in San Jose, CA

I am looking at hiring an attorney who does cases either pro bono or on a contingency case. I am low income and was laid off my job after they found out I had a disability. They claimed there was no work for me thus, their excuse for letting me go. The worse part is the next day I found my job in the help wanted section online. I would like a recommendation from someone who personally sued and won against a company. I believe my case is strong and I can win but ...I keep finding the lawyers that want $5,000 up front and I can not afford it.
Please help!

Thanks in advance,

P.S. I have a right to sue notice from the Department of Fair Employment and Housing - (if this helps)

well i'm 17 and i've done everything the court has asked of me. i've got clean UA tests, i get straight a's, i had a job but just recently quit because everyone there was a meth user (gross), i've done all my community service, paid all my fines (with my money not my parents), and i haven't got in trouble with the law for a year. (it was a huge mistake getting in trouble in the first place) any ways i've done EVERYTHING they ask of me yet they won't let me off probation. now they just have me sign in everyweek and i've had a court date pop up today...which usually is an indication that i'm getting arrested for what ever reason they pulled out of their *** this time. (they just don't want to let me off) so really WTF do i do?! i even went to AA for three damn months even though i don't have a problem with drugs...and did some stupid *** counseling
