Hi my company has a fraternization policy between employees and managers. I am a manager and I have some of them on my friends on myspace. I left a public comment about two employees on one of my friends myspace pages. She is my subordinate. The comment was of a joking nature but could be considered mean to be honest. This employee that works under me is quitting and doesnt like me so he is attempting to take me down with him. He has obtained a copy of the comment I made on this myspace page. Can he legally use a comment I made almost a month ago against me while trying to prove I show favoritism and Im "unprofessional." He is out for blood and is reaching in my opinion, but can he use these comments against me ? Should I be worried about losing my job because of a myspace comment. Is this against fraternization to have subordinates as my friends? Please help, Im really stressing about this.

Thanks

I live in the state of California and had a question regarding a job I applied for. After inquiring about the job I found out that my application was no longer being considered. This has not happen to me before, and even though I am not upset, I did inquire with the HR person who told me my application was no longer being considered, and asked her why it was not being considered anymore. It has been over a week, and I think that I am being ignored. Mainly because she has returned all of my e-mails very quickly accept for this one. I heard a long time ago that by law an employer must tell the applicant the reason why they are no longer being considered. Does anyone know if this is true or not, and if so can you please direct me to a legitimate website where I can see an explanation of this law. I don’t like how this company has blown-off its applicants and want to peruse this further.

Neighbor has a pool, with an attached pool cover across the top. The residing children invited the neighbor children over to play. The residing children told the visiting children it was "fun" and "okay" to run across the cover. This kind of "play" occured during three seperate visits. The first visit the parent of the residing family was present and supervising this play. The second visit a parent was present but no supervision around the pool. The third visit (The visit the pool cover tore) There was no parent home or supervising. It was on that visit the pool liner eventually tore due to the burden of children running across the top. Upon discovery the residing parent has confronted the neighbor parents and is demanding full compensation.
The pool liner was ripped apx. 2 feet. Since then the cover has remained atop the pool and over a sweeper and has since ripped an additional 7 feet.

If a person has been granted a job at a “California” medical institution with an offer in writing, but later the offer is pulled because he refuse the MMR vaccination due to religious reasons, would it be illegal since he/she has been discriminated based on “religion?”

Let's assume two scenarios:
a) he'll only work in a call center with no client contact.
b) he works at various doctor offices and throughout the institution.

Is there a California State or Federal law that provides an exemption to immunization, and if so, does the exemption part of the law covers all business types? The institution I have in mind is a California public institution. I am particularly interested to hear from lawyers who are in the employment and health profession.

I'm given the reason that if I'm not vaccinated, then I can infect others, however, I disagree in that this issue deals with me. If others are exposed, and they are not vaccinated, then it was their choice.

Thanks

I hurt my back last December on the job. I informed my manager at the time and continued to do my job as we were in the middle of a remodel. Recently my Area Manager threatened to fire me if called in or left early because of my back one more time. I told him that this injury happened at work last December. He suggested that I take a leave to get my life in order. I'm seriously looking into changing careers.
I would like to know my rights in this situation.

I personally think he was not guilty. He said he didn't do it and if he did he would be lieing. By the way I am white and I just think he wasn't even involved of killing his wife. Why would a great actor and a great ex Buffalo Bills running back would do it. He's more innocent if anything so he did not do it.

Do you think the government should allow them to continue airing or find a way to shut them down?

I know what I would feel like doing, but that would make me a hypocrite. I believe that they should be allowed to continue airing, but if I were in power I would probably want to shut them down.

So the second questions is, are you a hypocrite too?
