Yet his children lived with him for half of the week. Can anyone explain how this is fair and restore my faith in the British legal system?

If a childs time is split equally between both parents does that child have a primary gaurdian or does it have a pair of gaurdians? Fail to see why if the father feeds,c clothes, houses and entertains the child for half of the time without financial support from the mother that he should be made ti financially support the other half of the time that the child spends with it's mother. This guy is being punished for being a good father

I am absolutely gobsmacked at the lunacy that is child support law and the CSA in this country. It beggars belief that this could happen. He houses them half the week, feeds them clothes them etc. and still has to give his ex £365 per month. His point is absolutely valid - why does he still have to give his ex-wife £365 pm? What is her financial contribution towards the children? Even his ex-wife supported him and has condemned the decision!!

We are letting hardened criminals and peados out of jail early due to overcrowding yet jailing this hard working devoted Father. Can't be right can it.

Simple! the court still see the role of the man as the main bread winner in the house hold. woman still get paid less than men in the same role however men get paid less for compared to 20 years ago. For example in 1976 you could raise a family on a 16k a year job and the wife could stay at home. However because most woman reject the idea of being a house wife they want to work thus raising the average income to include 2 wages. this has increased living expenses, mortgage/property prices and just about everything! but this is not taken into consideration when you are single and have to pay to support your child. I agree you should pay for your child support but the cost need to be shared between both partners 50/50!

We already answered this. Just because you were ordered to pay child support, and your child lives with you part-time, though you ARE NOT the primary guardian, doesn't mean you can just say to hell with paying support. One has nothing to do with the other. As this is the second time, I hope that helps!

And it is totally fair! All you see is the man going to jail for non-payment. You have left out all the rest!

If you want to revise your court ordered child support payments their are legal methods to do that, which did not happen in this case.

And if it helps any, this is the exact same answer I give to women who try and withhold visitations because the father doesn't pay child support. That doesn't fly either!

IF HE HAS JOINT CUSTODY I SEE NO REASON HE SHOULD BE GOING TO JAIL NOT WHEN HE IS SUPPORTING THE CHILDREN FEEDING CLOTHING AND EVERYTHING. BUT LIKE WITH ANYTHING LEGAL THEY HAVE TO HAVE IT ON PAPER DID HE ALWAYS HAVE JOINT CUSTODY AND ORDERED TO PAY HALF CHILCARE AND THIS IS HALF OF SOM MEDICAL EXPENSES OR PERHAPS MEDICAL COVERAGE IS FROM HER JOB AND THEY THINK HE SHOULD PAY HALF THAT? EITHER WAY ITS MESSED UP I HATE TO SEE GOOD FATHER GET IN TROUBLE WHEN THEY ARE BEING GOOD FATHERS. HAD IT BEEN A DEADBEAT WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM I'D SAY LET HIM HAVE IT BUT NOT A MAN WHO DOES SO MUCH FOR HIS CHILDREN AND SPENDS TIME WITH THEM. PERHAPS HE SHOULD CONSIDER A COUNTER SUIT ON GROUNDS OF DISCRIMINATION. BUT JUST MY THOUGHTS/
