If a woman throws a drink in a man's face or slaps him for being verbally abusive or inappropriate, can he file charges against her, for assault, battery, things like that? Just theoretically . . .

Yes. Basically any unwanted contact constitutes a battery.

If the guy felt threatened, or in fear of imminent danger (or an apprehension of one), then that would constitute assualt.

Most criminal statutes, however, consolidate both Assault & Battery into one crime. Either way, criminal charges will stick.

If she only verbally abuses him, he has no grounds. If she throws a drink in his face, it could be considered battery. If she slaps him, it could be considered assault and battery; much will depend on where this occurred, where the parties reside and the Judge that would hear the case (less likely for charges to hold up in southern part of the US than the Northern due to cultural differences/values).

Ok this is how it will work he can file the charges but she done it in a response towrd his behaivor and actions so if he would file she would fight right back and may over turn the charges, so he would be better off not pressing any charges.

If he was being verbally abusive then she can press sexual harassment charges
