I live in the state of California and had a question regarding a job I applied for. After inquiring about the job I found out that my application was no longer being considered. This has not happen to me before, and even though I am not upset, I did inquire with the HR person who told me my application was no longer being considered, and asked her why it was not being considered anymore. It has been over a week, and I think that I am being ignored. Mainly because she has returned all of my e-mails very quickly accept for this one. I heard a long time ago that by law an employer must tell the applicant the reason why they are no longer being considered. Does anyone know if this is true or not, and if so can you please direct me to a legitimate website where I can see an explanation of this law. I don’t like how this company has blown-off its applicants and want to peruse this further.

Well I have no criminal record, I did not lie on my application, and I did not hve a bad recommendation from anyone. But I did apply to a large non-profit Aquarium. Mabye I bit off more that I could chew on this one. But my resume was all in order. Anyway thanks!

No, a potential employer does not have to give you any reason for no longer considering your application; most just state that is because a better qualified candidate existed.

Reasons why you could have been eliminated could vary greatly; typical ones where another candidate has not been selected are if you have any criminal history or bad or less than stellar credit, especially if your potential job responsibilites would have included you handling cash transactions. Others are if they check your references and you have lied about anything or if you sign a release for full disclosure (which most smart potential employers will do) and your previous employers were not happy with your prior performance as past behavior is a good indication of possible future behavior.

A good move on your part would be to consider the above, if you are in any of the above categories strongly consider where you apply for future employment act. Larger companies are more diligent in their research than smaller, family owned companies.

Theres no reason you're able to no longer be waiting to place all the subject concerns you furnish for the scale of the mail in to an digital mail that should snatch the attention of a skill emplyer. optimum employers does not situation to make the attempt to seem at a disc.....it basically takes too plenty time for them. want you discover a job without delay!
