I don't smoke, but going into a bar that does not have smoke hanging in the air does not give you the full bar experience. People have been smoking in bars forever. Is it not a violation of their rights to take away a privelege that they have always had. Smoking in restaurants needed to go, but smoking in bars is an American tradition.

you find out that the that the person you are taking to court also talked to an atourney from that office but didnt hire them. Would that be a conflict of interest? Can I stay with my attorney or do I have to hire another one.

Would you be legally entitled to walk around your own garden naked even if you were clearly visible to your neighbours for example?

Could you legally have sex in your own back garden or anywhere outdoors on your private land? What if it was your own front lawn and people were walking past on the other side of a small fence and you were in full view of them?

What if you were on other private land like a privately owned car park? Could you just have sex on the bonnet of your car?

Also what if you're in your own house and are naked or commiting an indecent act in a room and can be seen by people on the street? Are you breaking the law even though you're in your own house, or are they breaking the law for watching you without your permission?

For example (I don't know if this is really ok or not, it's just an example):

Drinking and driving/DWI/etc.... If I am drunk and driving on a public road I can get into trouble with the law. However, if I paved my own private 100 acre lot, could I drink whiskey, get drunk, and drive all I wanted? What if another vehicle (not mine) came on to the private lot mistakenly, and I crashed into it because I was drunk? Would I be breaking and drinking while driving laws? What if it was a private subdivision instead of a 100 acre lot?

Can you name more?

I am foreigner living in Japan. Some things botherd me and that is why I am asking you some questions. If there is any expert in human rights please let me know with some references. Please reply as " this is obvious", "this is odd", "this is a human right violation".
1) All the foreigners are given a card here. The name of the card is "ALIEN registration card". What do you think about the word "ALIEN"?
2) When we look for a home, many home owners that they won't give his/her apartment because "we are foreigner" and no other reason. What do you think.
3) Some times when we walk inside stations or walk on streets, without breaking any law (ex. throwing cigarette butts, throwing cans, disturbing other ppl etc), police stops foreigners specially the non-white ppl and ask for alien registration card. Personally I believe that as long as I am not doing any kind of crime or offence, police has no right to stop me just by seeng my face color. What do you think?

I want to clarify my previous question. I work for a grocery chain that requires men and women to wear the SAME shirt. Button down, dress shirts. Men's have the buttons on one side, women's have the buttons on the other side, all other features are exact! The dry cleaners charge more to have women's shirts clean, "due to the difference" in the postition of the buttons. I believe that is sex discrimination. Is it possible to sue them for this?
