I am thinking about adoption from the department of social services(dss). can anybody give an ideal of what the procedure details as far as what they look for in a cori and background check. this something that i really want to do i been thinking about this for about three years and i'm ready to go forward with it, I love children and I think their is a child out their for me to take care of. I have three children of my own but, they are all grown youngest 21 the oldest 25. And I have three grandchildren residing in Atlanta just went there a month ago. I just want to know is this a hard procedure to go threw with. My son has been into trouble(21) before and recently but, never been convicted of anything just had to pay fines for auto violation, driving without a license(suspended) I dont' know if this would get in the way when they do a cori check on him, so any suggesting greatly appreciated.

Someone has a public defender appointed to them in Wisconsin for criminal charge. However, in the meantime, they have an eviction case filed against them.

Is it legal for the public defender to also represent them on the eviction case?

The cases are completely seperate. In Wisconsin, the only way you can get court appointed counsel is for criminal cases - not civil.

I was recently informed that a criminal record of any kind may effect the possibility of becoming a nurse. About two years ago I was charged with possession of controlled substance (which was small piece of marjuana) and paraphernalia charge. The controlled substance charge was dropped, and I was charged with paraphernalia. Even thought the controlledsubstance charge was dropped, the charge still shows on my record when checked by employer. Another thing that I was might be pending is that I was put on the Child Abuse registry for seven years for the fact that my child was with me. I did three months doing intense outpatient treatment. And since have stayed drug-free. I would love to pursue my education in nursing, having great interest for Obstetric or neo-natal care which is working with premature babies in intensive care unit. For if there is going to be anything that holds me from getting a degree of such I feel that its going to be a big waste of time.

Do cities enforce smoking bans and drug laws because they do not want the illeagal immigrants to be harmed by second hand smoke or buy pot?

2006-12-26 20:31:22 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous

i think there is growing acceptance of pot as not a harmful drug in the populace. in recent years we have seen the spread of "medical marijuana" states, mostly in the west. several cities have taken steps to effectively decriminilize marijuana, or set it as a low priority for cops. ballot measures in colorado and nevada came close to winning a majority in favor of completely decriminilizing pot, for recreational use as well as medical use.

pot is legal in holland and practically legal in germany, switzerland, and the united kingdom.

do you think that within the next ten or fifteen years, pot will be fully decriminilized in the united states? or at least in some states?

I think it will, because as today's baby boomer generation becomes the senior citizens of the next ten plus years and today's young people become middleaged and more and more young people come into voting age, the percentage of the total population that will have used marijuana will have increased so much??!!!

A nurse in my Doctors pratice informed my doctor that she saw me driving after receiving a narcotic in the office, the statement is compleatly false. I received 2 perscriptions and a shot of phenagrien, I have tried to clear this up with my docter but the nursing staf will not put me through to him and they will not register the complaint against the nurse either, and because of this false statement I have lost the doctor I have been seeing for 17 years. now I cant get the medical treatment for my very serious health problems, and I also worry that this nurse may hurt someone with this behavior of hers, this is serious misconduct for a nurse. The letter I received from my Doctors office was sent via the uspostal service certified, and my record at the doctors office should show the treatment I received that day. I would like to take them to court for malpratice 1 for pain and suffering, 2 for defimation, 3, Slander, 4 maltious intent, but who do I talk with first? etc.

The electric bill is in my name. Before we moved in we verbally agreed we would go halfs on all the shared utilities. He doesn't deny that. The roommate paid his half of the very first electric bill but refused to pay the next two bills and claims he is not going to pay half of any future electric bills. I've told him many times that I expect him to pay half of the electricity if he is going to use it. He still uses electricity and still refuses pay and refuses to sign a contract. Do I have any legal footing to take him to court? Thanks for any and all help.

i think that this is just a minor case but for example--imagine you pass a note in class telling in depth details of a friends death, your personal health, or something you would never tell anyone but your best friend. is it a violation of the privacy act if the not is read aloud? also, why are teens under 18 not allowed to leave home with out court permission? what if the court does not understand your case? what if you are in danger of emotional abuse and there is no evidence, so the court will not let you go? how are teens supposed to act like adults if we do not have adult rights????
help please. i am lost. recently a teacher at my school told me that I dont have any rights. this confuses me and i am not going to shut up and sit down in my school until i know my rights are protected, informed, and cared about. help me out!

i don't understand this we shell out 20 bucs for 2 movie tickets then another ten to 15 for popcorn and soda. then u go to buy the DVD and they charge u almost 30 bucs just for that then they put a copy right on the DVD so u can't copy it. then they come out with an uncut version of the same movie and make u pay that same 30 bucs for that one as well. so u have actually paid almost 100 dollars for the same movie but yet they call the down loaders the pirates
