i think there is growing acceptance of pot as not a harmful drug in the populace. in recent years we have seen the spread of "medical marijuana" states, mostly in the west. several cities have taken steps to effectively decriminilize marijuana, or set it as a low priority for cops. ballot measures in colorado and nevada came close to winning a majority in favor of completely decriminilizing pot, for recreational use as well as medical use.

pot is legal in holland and practically legal in germany, switzerland, and the united kingdom.

do you think that within the next ten or fifteen years, pot will be fully decriminilized in the united states? or at least in some states?

I think it will, because as today's baby boomer generation becomes the senior citizens of the next ten plus years and today's young people become middleaged and more and more young people come into voting age, the percentage of the total population that will have used marijuana will have increased so much??!!!

Maine, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Mississippi, Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, California, and Alaska have all decriminalized marijuana. Grant it, most of the time you still get a $100(ish) fine for possession of a small amount, but at least you don't go to jail. And yes, I do think we will see much laxer marijuana laws in our lifetime. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi was a huge supporter of medical marijuana in California and Colorado Amendment 44 only lost 60%-40%.

As far as the comments about certain ages, generatons of people. Who are you to judge what they did or did not do. I approve of medical use only, and only in the case of terminally ill patients that are in so much pain that the stronget pain killers will not help. I also think that should be up to that person only, not the family. But as for as myself, I would never use it for any reason.
