I also don't know what to expect, i.e. length, how I should dress. It is over some money owed in an accident.

You can take the baby to court, but i would try to get the court date changed to a later date so that will give you plenty of time to find someone to watch him/her. Or have someone come w/you to keep the baby occupied. Just dressy casual, skirt or slacks, dress shirt & Jacket.

I do not know about the child. Offhand I would say find a sitter. You may be there for several hours, and there is nothing around to amuse a small child. As for your appearance. I would say business casual. You don't want to look like you are going to the prom, but you also don't want to look like you were just weeding the garden either. Nice skacks and a shirt/sweater, or a casual dress, or a skirt and blouse. No clown makeup either. And if you have piercings in other places other than your ears, I would suggest that you take them out. This is not due to my prejudice, but from observation. Regardless of what people say, first impressions DO make a difference in how others perceive you; and you want to make the best one that you can.

I 'm only telling you what I would do in your situation. Most 1 yr. old's aren't behaved well enough to handle any court ordeal--no matter how long or short. I know Christmas just came and there are bills to pay with that and your regular bills have to be paid also. Try to find a day care that can take them. I can't tell you the length because it depends on the amount of evidence and the over-all deliberation length for final judgement. I would wear something dressy--like you are going to church services.

Yes you can and should but don't tell em you don't have a babysitter, tell em you don't let anyone with your child,,ya might get some positive results in money or time frame settlement points. Dress moderate but not like you blow money on expensive clothing and jewelery. Expect to be there anywhere from 1 to 4 hours depending on where you live and the courthouse caseload.

Look conservative. Wear a dress. No heavy make up. The girl next door. And if you must bring the baby then get a friend to go with you to help take the baby out because you may be there for a couple of hours. Go prepared.

Well, technically, no. It actually depends on whos running the court (no the government, but like, the judge, or something...). Sadly, most of the time (99%) they don't let you bring kids inside the courtroom... Sorry. Oh yeah, and if you want a good tie, with the judge, I suggest you dress formally, just to stay safe, and just so the judge doesn't pick on you... (You know the law these days..., bunch o' jerks they are...)

I recommend you find a baby sitter somehow. Who takes care of her when you work? Do everyone a find a babysitter. Nothing will piss a judge off more than a whining baby.

Don't take a baby to court. They don't allow it. Also, some dress slacks & decent shirt.

i doubt you can even bring them, i go to child support court....hell the case is about them, and they cant even come. find a sitter, sometimes daycare will take your child and only charge by the hour if you leave all the info. for the child there with them.
