I live on a military base in a 4plex. This last Friday my neighbor who lives on the second floor, decided to pull up a trailer and move furniture into her apartment w/3 of her friends at 11 pm! It woke up my 7 mnth old and I was very unhappy about that. She not only disturbed me but everyone else in the 4plex. When I confronted her about it she sprouted her fangs and gave me this crappy story of her friend's husband being in jail and ner needed to get her stuff outof storage and what not. I flat out said I don't care, isn't my problem and she should have been respectful of others in the building. She went on & on trying to justify herself and even started bringing up past issues I thought we had moved past, like her 3 yr old throwing a knife in our yard 2 mos. ago because she was "depressed and on sleeping pills and didn't know what he was doing". She tried to use that as a valid excuse! I filed a complaint w/our housing, but the she has been twice as worse now. What can I do?

The Union at ABC company has not permitted African Americans to become a part of its ranks because of opposition from union members. African American employees win when they sue to join the union. The court orders appropriate remedies. The union still resists African American as members. Eventually the court orders that the union admit a certain number of African Americans by a certain time or be held in contempt of court.

i worked in a bar/restaurant...after my shift i had some drinks with coworkers at the restaurant...i ended up getting a dwi that night. the next day i was fired for putting everyone(bartenders, managers, owners) in a bad situation. since this happened...employees cant drink after there shift at the bar...not just at this location...but all the other ones too (chain). my sister went into another location hung out and grabbed an application. shes friends with the manager at that one and he told her to not put her last name down bc they would hire her if they knew i was her sister. so im wondering...is it legal for them to fire me bc of that? is it right that all locations were told my name instead of keeping it confidential (slander), are they allowed to not hire my sister bc of something i did? (discrimination). someone help...im already embarassed enough for gettting a dwi...now its everyones business apparently. im very hurt, very sad, very ashamed...help

The boss is always spontaneous, changeable, blameful and give never enough times for emplyees to finish assigned work. The boss always take personal things into office work and blames the others for her own mistakes. How to bear with this...?

I do not believe life begins at conception. You cannot prove I am wrong or you are right. Yet you (pro-lifers who would murder for your cause) demand that the whole country be forced to live according to your creed. How disgustingly religous.

If someone was charged with say, assault and battery, would it be the prosecutor's role to investigate the case, or would it be the plaintiff's lawyer's?
What if the defendant claims that there is an accomplice to the crime? Who is responsible for looking into that?

"ATTENTION ALL" AT The 76th GAS STATION STORE Last night prior to the start of my Graveyard Shift I was over there. ON the Glass front doors, it is POSTED that All minors are NO LONGER ALLOWED INSide after 2300 Hours (11:00 pm) to buy anything at all. They said ADULTS is ok to shop inside the store. I asked why and the Clerk said due to minors Stealing from the Store or words to that effect, they no longer be in there.

We would have to eliminate the right of people to randomly sue their doctors. Insurance companies would go broke. And even the poor could get treated for serious diseases. What are the down sides to this again?

I was just reading a question posted 2 weeks ago that asked whether we should legalise ALL drugs.

Now, I am a VERY intelligent, rational citizen of the United States. I believe that logic and reason should rule all debates, rather than hysterical emotive shrills uttered by power-hungry politicians and neurotic mothers. I also believe in our REPUBLIC (read: not a democracy) and our Western philosophical tradition which emphasises personal freedom and the accompanying responsibility.

One "Keith L" responds:

"That's like saying that because the murder rate is so high, let's just make it legal. You must have some rules to guide society and prevent things from free fall. Look at the good and bad things about drugs. Drugs ruin peoples lives."

This is the same sort of reasoning that got us into this fiasco in the beginning. Now, it should be obvious that this fellow is...

My daughters car was taken to a body shop by her (now) ex boyfriend who told the mechanic ( a friend of his) to fix it completely. My daughter the owner of the car did not authorize this action. We never even got an estimate. 3 months later, and several long distance trips to ft. worth and many phone calls, we went to see the repairs being made on the car, but the car was not there. The mechanic told us he had moved the car to his house and that it was "just around the corner". He has not produced the car however and she never recieved any documentation from the body shop. He told her he had put a mechanics lien on the car and that he had someone to buy the car if we did not want it, but we did want to pay for it but only after seeing what repairs had been made...what do we do? we have no car and never authorized him to make any repairs..what rights does she have if any? What are the laws in Texas on mechanics' lien? Do we report the car stolen? Please help!!!
