Yes, in North Carolina, there is a three day waiting period to purchase a hand gun. This is after you have taken the time from work to take a state mandated fire arms safety course, go to your county's sheriff's office and fill out the necessary paperwork for a criminal background check and FBI search and fill out an application for hand gun purchase. In the mean time, you could have bought as many of what ever you want off a street corner in one day and be done with it. The criminals have it made in this country...why do they make honest people go through so much to get a hand gun? I know other states are even harder to deal with....New York being one of the toughest! They're trying to make honest people not want to even have guns.

Why isn't there a national standard on the gun law? Should individual states be able to create their own laws concerning something straight out of the Constitution?

Chicago doesn't allow weapons in the city. Although Southern states embrace gun laws. Also I'd watch for place in the slums of New York, for example the Bronx, Queens, and Harlem. South side of chicago. New Jersey in Total. Parts of Philedelphia. Basically all southern states near the east coast. You're safest in the Northern states. Places in the west also have guns but it's more rural and docile in comparison to Urban poor. Personally I believe that a person should be okay with tranquilizer guns, Tasers, and Gun's with Rubber bullets.

Yes the State of Illinois requires FOID cards and this is a form of gun control. In a lot of areas in Illinois the only people who have guns are the criminals who ignore the laws. A lot of people refuse to go through the process to acquire a FOID so they purchase, tasers, tear gas, ball bats, pellet guns and all of these can be deadly weapons.

Yes: The Second Amendment of our Constitution which states that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

This is so that criminals will not be the only ones who armed, while leaving the honest citizenry helpless, among other reasons.
