In practice you cannot do much about it. If you have a complaint about the Social Services they are experts at their own bureaucratic system and they will lie there way out of any of their abuses (wouldn't you in their position?).

Members of Government Quangos are liable to abuse people as well.

You will have to be more specific to get a helpful answer.

Some of your rights are protected by law - eg your rights as an employee, a tenant or a consumer - but not all.

And even if your rights are protected by law, in a case where they conflict with someone else's rights, then the law may not come down on your side. For example, you may feel you have the right to play your music in your own home, but your neighbour may feel they have the right to a good night's sleep. Or you may feel that you have the right to drive down a particular road, but the residents there may feel they have the right to reduce traffic.

If you feel that your rights have been abused to an extent which may be illegal, seek legal advice. If you feel that a professional or an organisation has abused your rights, find out about their complaints procedures.

If you post more information you will get a more helpful response.

Depends on what was done to you.

There are a lot of people who think they have rights that they actually do not. The most prominent is the right to marry. The state gives a license and there is no Constitutional right to marry.

If the abuse is something worthy of lots of media coverage, the ACLU will talk to you. If the ACLU sees that they can't get the kind of publicity they lust for, they won't lift a finger.
