My sister worked in a convenience store. Last night she found some money lying on the floor @ her place of work. She picked it up as most people would have. When she came home, she had a male friend over. This morning she couldn't find the money. She believes the man who came over stole it from her. When she went to work today, she was fired & her boss told her that she was calling the law for "theft". Apparently the one who lost the money, came in the store asking about it. They said they looked @ the survellence tape & saw her pick it up. She cant find the money to return it. Her now ex-boss is scaring her to death telling her that she's going to be going to jail. She said the cops would be by, but that was about 5 hours ago & no cops have came. I don't believe finding money on the floor could be considered stealing. I think she's just trying to scare her. We live in TN. Anyone who is familiar with the law, please give us some insight on this. Thank you.(only serious answers please)

I am having trouble with my daughter's elementary school and thier mandatory uniform policy. Last year, I was able to sign the waiver to opt-out of it, and we had no further problems. This year, however, they are really hassling me. They are saying they are going to transfer her to a different school that does'nt have uniforms, or that they will make her change, but that is not acceptable to me, and it is illegal. I need to know, from parents that have dealt with this issue, or from kids whose parents had the same problems, any tips or advice on what to do next. I live in California, and I am planning on calling the ACLU tomorrow, but in the mean time, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you think it's time that the world gave more power to the U.N. in order to set up some kind of human rights laws that Must be followed in every country despite the form of government in power?

I was just sitting around thinking about this. I haven't formed and solid opinions yet so I just wanted to know what you guys thought. It doesn't have to be a political point-of-view. Just from a humanitarian stand-point, what do you think?

I have been critical of Bush not during 9/11 and not during Afghanishtan, then I was proud of him. But Iraq is wrong and unlimited Federal spending and enlarging the government is wrong, that is not the Republican party I first joined. But because of my view and others like me, we get a lot of response to question with if you don't like it then GET OUT. Or being called Unpatrotic. Not true.

This country was founded by revolutionist against unlawful taxation. Their were people who during that time did not want to rock the book, called these revolutionist unpatriotic to their King and country as well. People who support Bush blindly are the exact same people as those who would have supported Britain at that time. They are loyalist and support authorty which is sad because this is a land of freedom and oportunity. So here is the question, who is the true patriot, those who take ridicule but VOICE our opinions or those who would support a President who has divided his country?

I have a couple of questions about the laws in california regarding assault and battery charges. Here is the deal. My 28 year old brother and his girlfriend went to california from north carolina to visit some family. They got in to a fight while at the hotel, the neighbor at the hotel called the cops. My brother went to jail. He shoved her and she hurt her ankle. He is currently being bailed out, has court on thurday, and is or was planning on returning back home (north carlonia) on sunday. Is assault and battery a feloney in CA, and what do you think the judge will do. Do you think they will keep in CA? Anyone delt with this before. Personally, I hope they keep his @SS. He has been in trouble one other time for assault and battery against my grandfather in 1999. Charges were droped if I remember right. Will that charge in 1999 that took place in north carolina show up before the judge in CA?. Thanks

My neighbor’s trees are not well kept. He fails to trim them, or remove dead braches. They are very large trees. Any way, one day a branch fell and landed on “our fence”, as in we paid for it. (Since then another piece of dead tree broke our fence again.) My father, not one to look for trouble, fixed the fence, and asked him if he would please remove the dead branches from on top of the tree so they won’t fall and hurt one of his children. The neighbor said he was too busy and it was too expensive. My dad, a busy man as well, said he had the day off and would not mind doing it, free of charge. The neighbor said it was great; he would sell the dead wood as fire wood. My dad did the job, piles the small pieces of wood and goes home. The next day the neighbor starts yelling at my mom. The neighbor claims that my dad piled the wood in a messy way, and that the wood would have to be cut to a certain measurement exactly, and the wood my dad cut was in different measurements. He said my dad could either finish the job or he would sue. Can he do this?

I am taking an ethics class, and my teacher asked the class: Do you think that Christian European/Anglo Saxon influence has weakened the world? Also why does it seem like most wars were/are due to Europeans/Anglo Saxon starting or interference? (white Americans, Europeans)

I was surprise that most of the class agreed and do believe this. Most of the people in my class are white.
There was a guy who basically said:

If you think about it America is built on immigration, and those immigrants came into America and bullied an entire race(American Indians), and they colonized other countries, brought slaves over, and colonized South America.
Then generations later we go into other countries and bully them for their goods and land.

I have to say he made a valid point, but I don't think you can label an entire race.

what do you guys think?

Am I the only person who hides his bong when the show "COPS" comes on?
It just seems like, if I can see them, then they can see me. I feel uncomfortable doing unlawful things while "COPS" is on. Like unatural to smoke a doobie while looking at Cops busting people. Am I alone on this? All references to illegal or unlawful behavior implied by this statment are ficticious. "Bong" refers to a water pipe used for the inhalation of Tobacco and other legal substances. This question cotains a chemical known to cause brain damage by the State of California, and should not be used without proper ventilation.
