I am having trouble with my daughter's elementary school and thier mandatory uniform policy. Last year, I was able to sign the waiver to opt-out of it, and we had no further problems. This year, however, they are really hassling me. They are saying they are going to transfer her to a different school that does'nt have uniforms, or that they will make her change, but that is not acceptable to me, and it is illegal. I need to know, from parents that have dealt with this issue, or from kids whose parents had the same problems, any tips or advice on what to do next. I live in California, and I am planning on calling the ACLU tomorrow, but in the mean time, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I DO NOT want to argue the pros and cons of school uniforms. Please read the question, and answer accordingly.

Why end at college? Why dont you sue artwork for having a gown code, game communities for having uniforms. it is all of the comparable no? In 2007 the ACLU despatched a letter to the Metro Nashville Board of training which mentioned that the proposed coverage of faculty uniforms band maximum kinds of expression, yet persevered to allow pupils to show clothing manufacturers and faculty logos at the same time as prohibiting expression of all different viewpoints. The ACLU's best gripe grew to become into the actuality that the proposed coverage allowed labels and branding of specific clothing and not others. So If the school favorite that style of clothing then the scholars might desire to have been if. If no longer then they won't. some human beings say that having a uniform eliminates the stress of protecting up with the main contemporary tendencies and fashions alongside with eliminating that type barrier. So certainly what i'm attempting to assert is that in case you do no longer like it then substitute colleges or abode college. it truly is a mute factor.

UNIFORMS ARE BEST AT SCHOOLS A LOT OF KIDS ALWAYS MAKE OTHER KIDS FEEL BAD ABOUT WHAT THEY WEAR SO UNIFORMS ARE A GOOD CHOICE PLUS IS SAFER TO IDENTIFY PEOPLE WHO GET IN THE SCHOOL WITHOUT PERMISSION. SO DONT BE A PEST AND BUY UR DAUGHTER A CUTE UNIFORM TO GO TO SCHOOL, PLUS YOU WILL SAVE IN MONEY FOR CLOTHES SINCE YOU ONLY BE USING THE SAME CLOTHES DURING THE WEEK OR AT LEAST NOT THE GOOD CLOTHES AND HAVE A FEW SETS OF UNIFORMS.
