Now we have illegals overpowering the system - with a new language taking over the country and free social benefits seems Ted Kennedy has his new electorial base. If he didn't have such a guilty conscious for murder he won't be so liberal begging for forgiveness. John & Bobby must be turning in their graves.

I know this country needs to work on it's immigration policy and the enforcement of those laws.

However since when does talking about immigration reform give people the right to use racial slurs?

A press conference will be held at Rancho Cucamonga's City Hall demanding that immigrant day laborers receive the same police protection as all other residents in Rancho Cucamonga and Upland. We will discuss two recent incidents involving day laborers.

On May 9, 2007, near the corner of Grove Avenue and Arrow Highway between Rancho Cucamonga and Upland a sports utility vehicle approached and offered workers a job. Three accepted, entered the vehicle, and were taken to a location near the Ontario Convention Center. Here, these workers were joined by three other workers picked up at another, unknown, location. All six were placed in a different vehicle and their hands were tied. They were driven to Tijuana, Mexico, where they were abandoned. This information comes from one of the kidnapped men, who called his sister, an Upland resident, to explain what happened. His sister went to the Upland police department to file a report. Up

My brother in law is a permanent legal resident courtesy of mid-1980's amnesty. He is now 37 and hasn't renewed his green card in years. Obviously, this is not ok, but i am wondering if he is now illegal as far as being deportable? What can he do now to fix this situation?

Do I get to stay, if I fork over Five thousand dollars also? I can easily bust out the cash, and show that I have a job...and probably fake all the background info needed to keep me here, or am I going to be discriminated against, and this is just for criminals from Mexico?...(of course this is a hypothetical question)

It is pretty much a general consensus that no one thinks immigrants should be permitted to reside in the US without authorization. Yet, everyone is freaking out about the possibility that the proposed legislation that would provide something very similar to amnesty will become law. The reason I hear repeated so much is -- no one should be allowed to be rewarded for coming to the US illegally.

Since everyone seems to have strong opinions about immigration law, but almost none are actually informed about immigration law, I will let you all in on a little "secret." There are in fact several ways currently in existence that certain immigrants who entered the US without permission can become legal.

Isn't the point is to have less illegals?

People are not happy with the new reform bill and a lot wan them to be deported. Really how practical is that idea. Where are we going to get the funds to search and deport basically the entire population of Texas. And for what to satisfy angry rhetoric. I would rather have this than have the government have to do house to house raids to find the illegals it would endup being more government waste. Please do not feed me the stats about how much they cost us now I know the numbers and I know what kind of deficit they incur to our national economy.

In response to the new amnesty deal today? It's very clear now that the government, Congress and the joke of a President don't give a rats @ss about the interest of the American ppl.

This amnesty is a sell out and slap in the face to the legal immigrants who came the lawfully way.

So now fellow citizens tell me what are we gonna do about this?

INS estimates that roughly 40% of the illegal immigrants living in the U.S., originally entered the country on non-immigrant visas (such as H-1B, L-1, etc.). These non-immigrants have become "illegal" immigrants by overstaying their visas. These people didn't jump a fence or swim across the Rio Grande, they flew in and entered legally. Building a wall won't change this. Tracking these people would require a national identity card that would have to be presented before many transactions could be completed. In much of the world, for example, one has to surrender one's passport when booking a hotel room or register with the police as a foreign visitor.

just processing them will cause us to have to hire people to do the work of keeping them out, as someones gonna have to log them in/out. either way, they are draining resources....just deport them.

Okay here it is...employers must be cringing right now, because when the immigrants become LEGAL...they will be elegible for insurance, retirement plans...minimum or equal to scale pay on construction jobs, etc..so what do you think...are employers going to go back to American *white guys*..sorry, that is just what it is...or are they going to keep hiring legals now...I think that the illegals are going to regret this move. What say you?

My two senators in Georgia, both Republicans, are standing with this possible legislation. They WILL NOT get my vote next election cycle if they follow through with their support. I'm quite sure many of my fellow constituents will feel the same way.

I wonder this though. How many Democrats in Mass. that are against this proposed legislation will do the same against Teddy Kennedy, one of the authors of this proposal? How about the Dems in Nevada against Reid? How about when it goes through the House. We all know Pelosi is for open borders. Will Dems hold her accountable?

If you entered the USA illegally, you have no right to expect to be allowed to stay here ! You have no right to expect to be able to hold a job. You have no right to receive services afforded to legal residents / citizens. If you have come to America illegally, you have violated the law of the land. In so doing, demonstrating a complete lack of respect for America, the Law and it's legal residents / citizens ! Deportation is the only right an illegal immigrant has.

Senators ?

When are you going to wake up, get real,
get with the program and do the right thing !?
