I have a friend who mother brought her over from Haiti when she was 11 years old on a tourist visa. We has been in the USA for 25 years. She married a friend of mine but he didn't know she was illegal. Well, they are now married, and have a child and one on the way.

Today, she recieved a letter from the Immigration Department giving her a court date. During the time of the court date she will be having her baby.

Lastly, what advise could I give her. Or what can I do to help her.

We have over 10 million alliens and these alliens have children born here in America and as such the children are American citizens by birth. American nationals have a constitutional right to invite their parents to settle in United States. My question is: at what age does an American citizen start enjoying their constitutional rights and being protected by the constitution? If the answer is at birth don't these immigrants' children who have become citizens by birth have a cosnstitutional right to invite their allien parents to settle in United States of America? If this is yes, are our politicians being honest with American people about immigration issues?

I am all for those here contributing to society being given a national ID, work permit and allowance to stay. But why not appease the American citizen and those who follow the rules and get here legally by denying citizenship to those who broke our laws to get here?

I'm my humble opinion we should have a zero tolerance policy against those who break our laws and and take advantage of our liberal policies. I live on the border and know first hand how illegal immigration affects our country. Let me give specific examples: 1. My public schools are overwelmed, my property taxes have increased to build new schools, expand english as a second language, and my children denied a place in their neighborhood school due to illegal immigrant children. 2. The county hospital has become an immigrant clinic, due to no questions asked policy, and a puppy mill (since anyone born here is U.S. citizen) 3. My insurance rates are the highest in the country, since I am required to have drivers license, registration and insurance (including uninsured motorist), and there are no consequences (since we are a santuary city) for breaking the law (except a ticket, that never gets paid). Maybe I'm cynical buy I believe that I'm being screwed for obeying the laws of the US.

Illegal Immigration is out of control. An estimated 12 million people are in the United States illegally.

Answers that incite hatred or insult others will be reported.

While debating the issue with some co-workers.One said that since this country was basically built on slavery, the illegal immigrants are the slaves replacements and this is why the government will never do anything but give amnesty.
What do you think ?

My birth certificate has the wrong date of birth, which I just discovered when I ordered it to use for applying for a passport. I was born in the U.S. and am a U.S. citizen, so it is not really an immigration issue. I assume I will have to hire a lawyer to help me get the the date of birth ammended. What kind of lawyer specializes in this type of issue? Thanks for your help!

To me, it's a farce!

Designating English as the official language of the USA does nothing to curb illegal immigration and those who argue for it on this basis are either uneducated about the subject or uninformed.

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dalls, Texas might think so:

A record patient survey indicated that 70% of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants! Crikey, that is 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas. According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million dollars delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost 8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $345 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 millon.

The average patient in Parkland's maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal alien. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. Ok. fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care than everyday, middle class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital they do.

There are so many different people on this category, with all different points of view (which I think is great). But the one thing I've noticed, is that there is never anyone on here that hires illegals (or maybe I've missed it, or they don't admit it). Could it be that they're afraid to speak up? They'd get attacked from both sides - from the people against it, and from the people who can't get decent wages. Are they the biggest problem, for both sides of the illegal (or undocumented) debate?

And please, no "you're a racist" comments please...I'm trying to point out how the media tries to brainwash us in our ways of thinking about illegal immigration.

Do you think it's intelligent to be apathetic about what's going on in the U.S.A. right in front of your faces?? To most of you we're on the same page, to some who disagree you don't get it! My grandparents came here from Italy. Immediately learned
English whereupon they became U.S. Citizens, opened a
business, paid their taxes on time every year. That's all I'm saying. I am not an angry person. I just want immigrants coming to America to act appropriately in the American way as my grandparents did. 10 illegals living in my bldg. recently got arrested at 5 am by the INS. They were being watched! America just needs to take control so that we DO NOT
become a third world country! I just want my country back. When was the last time any of you bought something that said
'made in America'?? Think real hard about what I'm saying here because it's got nothing to do with hate or anger. It's got everything to do with TRUE FACTS. Hate is a sickness, I
don't hate I just face reality!!!!!!!

I keep hearing this over and over and it's a ridiculous statement!
Sure, there are lazy Americans, just as there are lazy Mexicans, Guatemalans, Peruvians, Indians, Arabs, Africans, Pakistani's, Frenchmen, and Germans.
I swear, I wish that people would listen to themselves when they say silly stuff like that, it just makes their arguments look worthless.

Allan Calderon, a 22-year-old from Guatemala who crossed the U.S.-Mexican border when he was 16, wants to stay.

"I don't ask for handouts, I start work at 5 a.m. and work until 8 p.m., no time to eat lunch," he said. "It is a hard decision to leave everything behind -- I drank the whole way while I crossed the border so I wouldn't think about what I was doing. I walked four days and three nights, I was crying."

In Guatemala, he may have made 50 cents an hour; here, his carpentry work earns him $17.50 an hour.

So I have called Sen Mitch McConnell's (my rep and also the Senate Minority Leader) office for the last three days. Every time I call it's the same thing.

"Sen McConnell is not for amnesty....he thinks that they should made to go to their home countries and go to the back of the line like everyone else"

So, I ask..."Then why is he voting in favor of the bill being set forth by Sens. Reid, Kyl and Kennedy...that's amnesty...flat out."

"Well," she replied, "that isn't amnesty..."

"Well what is it??? (at this point I am getting angry at the lies)

"It's not amnesty"

"Well WHAT IS IT?" I am not sure how much more clearly to make myself.

So round and around we go....she was a liar and he is a POS.

I can not wait to vote his *** out of office...

SO, my question (after you know why I am asking) is if they are so proud of what they are doing...then why when their constituents call, are they lying to us?? What do they have to hide?
