Enforce our current laws & add the following laws... No anchor babies (if a child is born to an illegal alien, they will also be considered illegal), no social service/medical benefits, no renting to illegals & no employment for illegals (major fines for all companies not in compliance with the law.

I personally think that the fact that franchises like McDonald's that go into other countries and crush all competition and therefore dismantle that country's economy, is the main reason why immigrants come here.

Also, Hollywood is in a constant effort to force down the world's throat the idea that the US is superior but free, and that it rocks but anyone with a dream can come in a rock as well if they work hard.

As long as that core problem, the invasion of the US industry of other countries, doesn't stop, neither will illegal immigration, I think.

But if all you want to do is discourage it, you could do what other people are suggesting, talking a lot. Prohibit more things. THAT seems to work.

OR Americans could step up to the plate. I mean, it's not like employers WANT latinos. They hire illegal immigrants because they're willing to do more for less. And because they never sue you for the most absurd reasons.

I also think it would be a good idea to start a media effort to promote nationality in those countries that illegal immigrants come from.
If they could learn to be loyal to their countries, and understood that if they leave their families and come to work here for a cheap prizes (nurturing the very industries their countries' industries compete against), they actually damage their countries, and if they accepted the idea that they should stay and try to fix things in their own country like Americans did during the Great Depresion, then I bet the income of illegal immigrants to the contry would decrease significantly.

There is a simple answer. If you hire, rent to, give sanctuary or do business with an illegal immigrant then you go to jail for five years period dot end of story.

My boss claims to want to discourage illegal immigration. But, when I asked him how much he pays to have his yard work done, the amount was less than half of what it used to cost in the mid 80s when I used to do that kind of work.

You can't have it both ways. As long as Americans continue to pretend not to be able to do the math and figure out how much a crew of legal citizens need to get to work for them, the politicians, who also work for them, will continue to pretend they don't know the difference between amnesty and a 'path to citizenship'.

There are some things we can do, E-mail or write those in Washington, we hope that sooner or later, they will understand that we do not want illega aliens here. Also we can talk about this problem, remember talk keeps others informed. Last on june 16th we can show the nuts in Washington, just how many there are of us. We need to keep the word going, No amnesty, No reform, Only enforcement.

Discourage ?

As long as they know they can make double or triple of what they make in their country. Nothing will stop them.

Turn in immigrants when observed. Write your representatives in congress and tell them your feelings on the subject.
