I am completely for legal immigartation. Legal immigrants go through the steps that the government has established to legally enter the country and they deserve it. Illegal immigrants circumvent the entire process and are generally a burden on society.

Why these people is coming to our country? because that's happening around the world, not only in US, all these migrants people is a result of the globalization, poor countries or countries with economic-corruption problems, you could find people with a degree that is ilegal as well, they are looking for a better life, I am not saying is right, because there a lot of convicts from these countries, drugs dealers, killers, or just bad people, but there are good people too they are doing a good job here. Ilegal inmigrant is political-economic situation, why? because the day that any Federal Goverment give a legal status to these people will be in the power for a long time, they are like lottery in a future (Florida, Texas, California, NY, etc), but today there are to much opposition. Economic because, even some people say that US loses money for the ilegal immigration, well that's not truth, at least here in North Carolina (see link), where the income from the immigrant, ilegal and legal , to the state in 2005 reach $ 9 Billion, and the cost for each of them was $102 (health, school, police, etc. inlcuded), so make the math you will see. I think that the opposition of the US population and some anti-immigrants organizations are for different reasons, because is normal that the people react against people that you dont know and dont understand, because if you see a few of these people is ok but 70million? is to much, walking around your family, because they look different, whatever, this is your country and you love this country, but do you know that the Highway that you used every day to go to work or take you family to see your parents, 70% was built for ilegal and legal immigrants, because US has no people wanna or like to do that kind of job.

The organizations use this issue for political things, some people complaining because they dont wanna share this country, some people is racist, some people love these people, some makes researchs about this people because they wanna know who they are, but let me tell you something, this is USA fault, no these people fault, because USA goverment do nothing and they could do a lot.
I would have done something instead expend billions in a war for petroleo.

Legal I am pro we need, they have talents our nation can use. For the illegal here is the message I have sent to the president, my senators and congress person. They are after votes the heck with America.
No No to "Z visas" to illegals. Don't even think about it. The proposal would let them ahead of others, some who have waited for years to come here legally. The illegals have broken out laws by coming here or overstaying they have stolen ID's (SSNs) to work. It’s against out law. We going to reward them with legal status? We will be sending a message that our laws do not apply to all only a few. If you allow this to happen forget my vote. I will be looking for 3rd party candidates that care about American. We can not afford to support the world. Clamp down on employers, social programs, including schools. If we need more workers give Guest worker visas. It appears that you our representatives along with the media are out of touch with the citizens. We don’t want them here look at the ordinances that towns/cities are trying to pass against them. Who is going to sponsor them so they do not become a ward of the state? Legal immigrants have to prove they will not become a ward of the state. Take back America..

There is nothing wrong period with someone wishing to come to the country through proper channels. the ones that sneak in should be sent home. and the thing i do not agree with at all. Is the tax breaks that they are given that we as natural born americans dont have. I think everyone working in this country should be taxed. Even the immigrants that come to the country with those six month work visas. they should have to pay the same taxes as anyone else. it is sad that industries abuse the immigrant issue a buisness will hire cheap labor if at all possible.

Pro (for legal only)

Follow the law, assimilate, take care of your own family and pay taxes do not become another burden on the US taxpayers.

Like the others above me I think limits should be set and maintained. Immigration, if done the correct way only makes us stronger as a nation. I think most Americans do not mind immigration as long as it is done legally.

Legal immigration is fine with me as long as the immigrant follows the rules to citizenship and provides for himself and his family, pays taxes and assimilates into this country I have absolutely no problem with legal immigrants.

We do however need to put limits on legal immigration and our limits need to be enforced.

I think most folks are very tolerable of LEGAL immigration.

Pro. Strongly so.

This country, frankly, needs more people. The fertility rate in the US is below replacement, programs like social security and medicare are faced with eventual insolvency. Economic growth is anemic, jobs are exiting the country at an alarming rate. Immigration solves all these problems - as long as it's legal immigration, balanced from among a diverse set of other cultures. Ideally, such immigrants should be young and skilled or otherwise valuable or 'desireable' people - though, obviously, that's not an easy judgement for a beaurocracy to make.

legal immigration is only of benefit to the host country if it high skilled. Low skilled immigration doesn't bring much benfit to a country and hurts the lower class natives.
However is it ethical to strip developing countries of their skilled people?
therefore is any immigration really good?

I am anti legal immigration because my parents came here illegally and are now legal, and I support them my grandma risked her and her kids life just so they could live a better life. They had to come here illegally because they were poor they walked five miles to get to school everyday. my mom has a dislocated hip and needed urgent medical attention which she got here. they lived in a house with mud walls and a tin roof. I support illegals because many of them suffer from the same things. they deserve a better life.
