Since it's an American's right to bear arms, what about others? I'm a Canadian citizen working on becoming a citizen of the U.S. I have been married to my wife (who is American) for over 2 years. Should I be able to purchase a gun even though I'm not a natural born citizen?

It was the symbol of open immigration for many years. We wouldn't want to give the disenfranchised from other nations a false hope. At least maybe we should remove the plaque that says we welcome immigrants.

I belive the security of the nation should be of paramount importance to the government and anyone applying for assylum or an immigation visa should apply to the embassy in their country of origin.
No foreign national should be allowed in without a current visa and they should be warned that if they overstay their visa they WILL be arrested and deported to their country of origin, without the right of appeal. They will in fact be placed on the next available flight.
This country has enough internal problems without adding illegal immigration to the pot.
I did not agree with many of the white South African government but I did, and still do, agree with their insistance that all immigrants speak the national language before emigrating, thus ensuring they could understand and be understood in most situations. Surely this is just common curtesy.
If you do not like the way it is here clear off back where you came from, dont try to change the way our country is run.

I married a United States citizen and we had a child. When the time came to apply for removal of condition, he divorced me and sent me back. Now I met another man, and want to join him in States. But the father of my child refuses to sign a permission for the child to leave the country. He is afraid that if we come back I will apply for the child support.
What can I do to bring my child back home?

Miss Mexico's pageant dress raises eyebrows

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Miss Mexico is toning down her Miss Universe pageant dress — not because it's too slinky or low-cut, but because its bullet-studded belt and images of hangings from a 1920s uprising have outraged Mexicans.

does America have the highest rate of drug abusers in the world?

Why does America have the highest rate of working people taking anti-depressant medication?

Why are American whites the only white people in the world who have to fear being in certain neighborhoods at night?

Doesn't sound like the greatest country to me.... sounds like the worst. Popping pills to feel better, constantly being scared or having to tip toe for fear of offending someone etc.

I mean, I can see why people form 3rd world countries try to go there, but they also come to Europe. That's nothing to be proud of. In all of Europe, we probably have over 10 million illegals too. HeII, they even come on inflatable boats across the ocean to our shores from Africa.

My girlfriend will give birth to our first child later this year. She is Estonian and she will give birth here. I know that I can get American citizenship for the child, but that will nulify his Estonian citizenship, which would disqualify him and his mother from getting one year's salary, under the "mother's pay" law they have here. If I wait a year to get him American citizenship, does it still qualify as Citizen by birth? Thanks for any help!

EL PASO, TX - A driver attempts to run over a Border Patrol agent during a routine traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

El Paso Police tell ABC-7 the incident happened at the Alamo Auto Supply Store at 5923 Gateway West.

Officials say Border Patrol and ICE agents attempted to perform an immigration stop of two men inside a Dodge Ram truck. Police investigators tell ABC-7 the passenger of the vehicle got out but the driver drove away.

As the driver sped away, he allegedly almost ran over a Border Patrol agent. The agents then pulled out their guns and fired at the truck as it sped away.

Police say the truck was found in the parking lot of Thomason Hospital. They add that the driver was at the hospital receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.

Police, Border Patrol officials and ICE authorities are all still investigating the matter. ABC-7 will have the latest on this story here on kvia.com and on our later newscasts.

My Argentine dad married my American mom in 62, and got a green card, social security number, etc. and was gainfully employed in the US for many years. He has lived in Argentina for several decades, but is considering coming back. Does he have to go through the whole immigration rigamarole again, or will the green card still be good? And if he lost it ages ago, how can he go about getting a copy? Any ideas on where I'd start?

Thanks!

My mother is going through problems with her husband. He is a U.S. citizen and she isn't . He is an alcoholic and a addicted gambler. He has not help her with anything and they've been married for 7 or 8 years. They both have 2 kids who are U.S. citizens. My mother also has 3 other kids with my father who are also U.S citizen. So now my mother doesn't have her citizenship and he is threatening her that he is going to deport her. Is there any way I could try to petition her? Or is there ways to stop him from blackmailing her? I am her son from another marriage would that be a problem?
