They should be given the opportunity to apply like everyone else.I find it unfair that there are people like my relatives that have had to wait for years just for a visa and there are people that can just sneak in and enjoy the benefits of being in the USA.And let's just say if some of them happened to commit a crime while they were here and illegal, they shouldn't get the opportunity to even apply, they should just get deported on the spot.

Undocumented? Meaning illegal. Let's not flower this whole issue, alright. They got here by committing a crime, and you think they should be rewarded for a job well done by being given citizenship to this country? Are all of you slightly dense or what.
ILLEGAL - means breaking a law, a criminal action, not to be rewarded but punished!
I'm not for sending them home either really, but I am for taking them further then their homes, and letting them walk back home.

Wisconsin had a discussion about how to rid ourselves of illegals/undocumented people. Some said 'shouldn't that be taken care of by our federal government' to which we all know, federal wants the states to take care of things themselves. Here, where I live, we've always taken care of our own.. how about where you are.

Oh! And to the man who is an illegal/undocumented alien, the one who drove drunk in FL and killed two young United States women, and got off with just a years probation.. bet you'd like to reward him with citizenship as well!

Isn't it about time you all saw the reality, rather than looking through the fog.

WAKE UP AMERICA!

NOT A CHANCE! They are criminals for breaking the law. "Undocumented aliens" sounds like they only deserve a parking ticket - it's an insulting term!

They already have been destroying our economy, schools & health care system. We have to pay over $22,000 per year to take care of their services. If they became citizens, that amount would increase due to welfare costs for the illegals, and their anchor babies, and they would probably qualify for a tax credit (AKA free money) due to their low income.

All illegal alien criminals, where ever they come from, should be deported. The 14th ammendment should be used the way it was intended by those that drafted it - children of slaves get citizenship. It should never apply to the children of criminals.

Remember, illegal immigration has NOTHING to do with race. It is only about our laws!!!

No. Maybe later in time after they go home. They shouldn't be rewarded for cutting in line, for cheating. Just because they're here and you can see their face and hear their sad stories of poverty and oppression, doesn't give them an elevated status over anyone else in the world seeking a better life. Immigration is a process, not a mad dash.

Absolutely not and for all the reasons everyone else here answered as to why they should NOT be offered citizenship or its rights. I especially laud Ronnie H's answer here - he has every right to be very proud of his heritage and his grandparents. If his grandparents can do it, so can other people from Mexico and Central America and every other country. If they enter the country legally and prove themselves to be worthy of US citizenship, then yes, they should be able to apply for and receive US citizenship.

NO.
deport every illegal immigrant in the country. “If you’re here illegally, you are breaking the law — no better, no worse than the guy who robs the liquor store or the guy who waits to case your house out and robs you of your belongings, “You are a criminal.”
Illegal immigrants are one of the main reasons for the state’s high property taxes, problems with uninsured drivers and violent crime, drain on the welfare system, including hospital, schools and more, illegal immigrants are more likely to become terrorists. “Our country is at war right now, and it’s very important that we protect our kids, our self and this country, and one of the ways you can protect them is to not let undocumented immigrants into this country." The word undocumented is a souped up word for nothing more than a ILLEGAL.
I am not saying that all immigrants be sent home, just those who are here ILLEGALLY. The problem is that whenever the issue of ILLEGALS is raised the defense from those who support the lawbreakers is to lump all immigrants together. The fact is, we who demand tighter border security and a end to ILLEGAL entry are fed up with ILLEGALS. If people came here legally, welcome to America.

The rights of citizenship are reserved for citizens. To offer the rights of citizenship to those that have entered the country illegally would not only be undeserved but subversive to the very nature of the value of citizenship essentially making it meaningless.

No they should not be given citizenship they broke the law to come here and allowing them citizenship would be a sign of weakness and that we can't uphold our laws. I'm all for immigration the right way and only the right way

No. If they want a chance to be a citizen they can immigrate here legally (papers and all), go through the process like everyone else...only then should residency or citizenship be an option.

If they return to their country, wait in line (over 6 million people around the world are waiting to LEGALLY immigrate) prove they never committed a crime (though entering illegally is a crime, I'm for the $10,000 fine) pay back taxes and sign a binding document proving they've never been "under United States jurisdiction" and that, hence, any children they had while here were not under U.S. jurisdiction and not citizens.
