Mexico has a Capitalist, rather conservative government. The new president is from the PAN party, which is like the Republican party in the USA, or the Tories in the UK.

First off Capitalism is not a form of government. It is an economic practice. That being said Mexico is considered a Socialist Democracy; What this means is Mexico is similar to Europe where it does have a somewhat free market but practices a socialist form of government support for its citizens. In reality there are two Mexico's; Northern Mexico tends to follow more capitalistic ideas and industry where as the rural Southern parts of Mexico prefer a more socialist ideas. This was apparent in Mexico's presidential elections where the victor won by less than 500,000 votes which is a small margin for such a large country.

Both US and Mexico have elections but both counties have a oligarchy. Where most of the power in held in a few people's hands. In the US it is big business, oil companies, why do you think two oil company men are both president and vice president (bush and Cheney). Why do you think that Bush and business want to grant amnesty . It's all about cheap labor. In Mexico it's the golden rule, he that has the gold make the rules.

Like the US, Mexico is a social-democracy with a mixed economy. That is, there are both market and command aspect to it's economy - there is private ownership of much of the means of production, for instance, but also public (government) ownership of some.

Well it is capitalist. The president was the candidate from the PAN and beat the PRD( socialist) candidate for 0.36% of the votes last year, they're people claiming from one side, looking the tendence of Latin America dropping out the capitalism and starting from their own way.
That's why there are mexicans with large amounts of money ( at least 12 in forbes).

Mexico has a "federal republic" form of government according to the CIA World Factbook. Also according to the CIA World Factbook, Mexico is a free market economy (i.e. capitalist).
