A speaker at a Florida agriculture event thinks so:

"Workers typically move from agriculture to higher-paying jobs in construction and other industries, Kates said, but new immigrants replenished the supply.

"We don't have that replenishment worker anymore. It will have a dramatic impact on how we do business in the future," he said. "We are looking at a new day."

Kates said Congress is completely polarized on immigration issues. Legislators were trying to reach a compromise this spring, but immigration-related protests destroyed that effort, he said.

"Illegals went to the streets and flew the Mexican flag. That just about wiped out the middle ground," Kates said. "People who had been sympathetic in the past were not anymore.""

they have been here since the the first white man (from spain) who gave this nation its latin/italian name (America). This nation survives because of the illegals and legals. America is not lilly white and has never been. There is illegals in every family and if you disagree, you are in for a rude awakening.

My experience in the workplace is I don't speak another language other than English, therefore I feel I should not have to listen to any foriegn language in any american place of employment while I'm working. Companys speak of things like, work as a team, work safe, etc. How can you do this when part of the " team" don't want you to know what their saying? I'm so sick of this sh-t, being force fed to accept this in our great nation. It's like at times you, the americans, are being closed out, by people who came here for better lives,but ignorant to our ways. A lot of times as a "team" we must discuss problems in the work place we all learn from, if you don't speak English, so everyone can understand, the whole prosess ends right there. Save your native language for breaks, or home, not in the workplace.

The similarities:

Blacks, by law, were property, animal workers, less than human. Because that was the law, people believed that was right and true. Blacks were breaking the law if they tried to stop being slaves and live like human beings.

When the law and rules changed, blacks were allowed to be free, people got angry and believed they should go back to their own country, that they are trying to take white peoples land.

Today the belief is illegals are criminals no different than killers, savages, and should be treated as such because the law say they are criminals all the same. It's believed that illegals who are trying to feed their families and live a good life here are breaking the law.

Some are fighting for things to change enough for them to stay. Many believe they don't belong here and should go back to where they came from, that they're trying to take our land.

The situations and attitudes, though not exactly the same, seem similar and immoral. Your thoughts?

Ignorance leads to racism. Most people are racist cause they were bred into it or they are unecduacated. When you are uneduacated it is easy to create stereotypes and other illogical ideas

She mentions that racsim is a product of undereducation, I can't help but think, America has possibley the best public schools in the world... so should I conclude that Americans are less likley to be racsit then say , some one from a nation that does not value education.

I think the current Neocon administration is using ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION as a SCAPEGOAT so people can blame all of America's social problems on illegals.

Illegal Immigration isn't new... Its been going on since forever. Chinese sneaking in...Cubans, floating in, etc. This was a mild -lukewarm subject during the early80's- the 90's.

I believe the reason why nobody noticed it or cared about it during BUSH1 - Clinton's administration is because we weren't having the financial problems and budget problems we are having now.
Bush is spending 8 times more than the rest of the world in national defense - basically a slush fund for Haliburton and Lockheed Martin. Bush is cutting Pell grants, medicine costs are skyrocketing, fuel costs are skyrocketing and the cost of living overall too.

The oldest fact of America is that America wa a land inhabited by Native American "Indians" indigenous to the land.
Basically, without sugar coating the story... White/Europeans came to America, subjugated the peaceful tribes and raped Indian women - diluting their blood and giving them diseases they had not previously known.

Then thy built this land known as America on the backs of Indian slaves and African slaves - FREE LABOR - which allowed America to grow and thrive faster than almost every other country in the world (less than 400 years).
I guess so since Labor was Free.


The Imigration system is RACIST against hispanics - setting up all types of quotas and such. Many of these people from Mexico are leftovers of Native Americans and Chicanos and various other groups.

These people existed in the americas long before the White man.

I met a man in France some years ago who told me he had dual citizenship in the US, but that the US would not allow him to keep dual citizenship past the age of 18. He said France had no problem with it, though. I assumed he was telling the truth, but now I wonder - does anyone know the US's attitude on dual citizenship? A reference would be nice.
