I see nothing wrong with that. My parents, American citizens with permanent resident status in Canada, are retiring in Canada as it is less expensive and they will have great medical. However, it is all LEGAL. Not like what I think you are comparing this situation to - I bet you are comparing this to the illegal Mexican immigrants who Americans say are not assimilating and not planning on staying in the USA forever. Not the same thing AT ALL! Illegal immigrants do NOTHING legally!

They being smart. Make good money and save it then go where it cheaper to live. Many Americans do this and live in other countries after they retire and can live very well. I been thinking of Belize when I retire. Nice Boat to live on, little shack over looking the Ocean. Live real nice. The Americans that stay here and retire, will realize those tax deferred Retirement plans are being taxed at a much higher rate and will be wishing they paid their taxes as they went. But, then it be too late to move somewhere cheap as they be too broke.

I don't know that it would be a problem. Nobody has to be an American but anyone who wants to be one and goes about it legally should be allowed to apply for immigration.
The Philippines are a beautiful country with a pround heritage and with good people. If they wish to go home to retire that is a choice they should be able to make and if they can earn that retirement here I have no problem with them doing it.

As long as they do so legally, where is the problem?
Retiring over there might be a good choice for many people as the cost of living is much lower.

I suspect they just can't afford to retire in the USA -- it's too expensive. Could you live on social security alone?
And if there is a racial element to your comment take note: Guamanians, US citizens all, are racially identical to Filipinos. And they are the most patriotic.
Filipinos and Guamanians are the groups most likely to enlist in the US military. And to give their lives in US military adventures abroad like Iraq.

The Flips are good workers like the mexicans, but unlike Mexico, they don't bring in things that they wouln't tolerate in their country.
