You want to know if people are racist? I say yes. I experience it on a daily basis. And it's not only between different races. People of the same race discriminate against each other because of class, status and wealth. In South Africa, we went through hell with apartheid and all that crap. Now, a decade later, we'll still experiencing it. WHY? Because the WHITEs were always seen as the big bosses with fancy houses and expensive cars. COLOUREDs/NON-WHITEs were seen as the working class, bottom of the ladder race who didn't want to take chances or talk out of turn. And AFRICANs/AFRO-AMERICANs are somewhere in between. That was then, this is now, and people still have that frame of mind. I myself am a NON-WHITE/COLOURED and I do not subject myself to such destructive criticism. It's a load of bull. I'm seen as a nothing because of the colour of my skin. Ever heard of the saying: "Don't judge a book by its cover"? And not only that, but we let ourselves, as a race, be discriminated against and do nothing about it. Now that attitude I don't understand.

I believe racism is caused by insecurity. If you feel secure in yourself, there is no need to feel superior to anyone. Racism is an easy way to say "I'm better than you" without having to show anything to prove it. It makes insecure people feel better about themselves.

I don't like fat women. That is because I am afraid of becoming one one day. If I was more secure with myself, this would not be a fear of mine, because I would feel that whether I was fat or not I would be ok and fat women wouldn't bother me. It is my own insecurity and has nothing to do with heavy women.

Racism in my opinion is a by-product of insecurity. It has nothing to do with pride or love of ones race. All races have racist people, no culture or people is exempt.

Because we are human. Its human nature, everyone is racits to a degree, and if you say thats not true, you are lying to yourselves as well as the rest of yahoo answers. Its when people take it to extremes and don't hire, exclude people and physically or verbally abuse people that racism is wrong. There is nothing wrong with having pride in your race, but to the extent of having parades and entire channels, thats wrong. But everyone is racist, get over it.

It is part of human nature. Birds of like feather flock together. This is nature's way. One is more comfortable amongst people you can share values, ideas and lifestyle with.

So people are not racist. They just do not know other people. I think people instead of migrating should stay in their own country. They will be happier there.

I believe that racism is mostly caused by fear. I think that people have an inherant need to shun others for fear of being cast out themselves. Ignorance and misinformation further exacerbate the animosity.

It's not a matter of being dumb. Honestly, WHITES are the Master Race. Blacks want to be hardcore, and gangster, and talk all this bullshit when really they're the ones who are the lowest of the low.
