They continue to say that all undocumented people become citizens if they have a baby here, or marry a citizen. This is NOT true.

Because it's easier to repeat a falsehood- than research the truth.

"Why do so many uninformed people on this site continually spew falsehoods..? They continue to say that all undocumented people become citizens if they have a baby here, or marry a citizen. This is NOT true."

Uninformed people.......................
LOL.. speak for yourself.
Undocumented people do not become citizens if they have a baby here, BUT the kid may petition his parent. If you marry a citizen, and observe the rules and regulations you will become a permanent resident.

What the hell ARE YOU anyway?

Gossip gets carried away because talking about other people's crazy, made-up lives is sometimes more fun than talking about reality. But the thing is that it isn't real and it makes people's lives miserable. And once gossip starts there's no stopping it. Gossip and rumors will grow and grow until everybody is talking about everybody else and no one is safe. Remember when two DJs in Texas said that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake had been in a car wreck? The next thing ya know, CNN is reporting that Britney is dead and the popstars' families are freaking out!

Real life is crazy enough without having people make stuff up about you, and vice-versa. There has to be a better way for people to socialize without making up lies.

they need to feel important. Others just want to start a debate.
The illegal's don't become citizens by having a baby, but the baby does. Being born on US soil, would give the baby dual citizenship.
As far as marrying a US citizen for citizenship, thats tech. true. However, they have to be able to convice they married for the "right" reasons, not just for citizenship, or they can and will be deported. They have aLOT of explaining to do, for a very long time so I wouldn't recommend it unless they want to live under a microscope, lol.

No, it is not accurate. However, these actions garner them a greater chance of staying here instead of being deported.
Most of these types of marriages usually result in children, who are U.S. citizens.
Being the mother of a U.S. citizen, no matter your country of origin, makes it difficult to deport you, since doing so would also cause the deportation of a U.S. citizen dependant upon you. These women definately get the sympathy of the media and politicians and usually are allowed to stay until their child is of legal age. By that time, the INS has usually forgotten about them.......

I know that some people believe that but most know that it is not so. I have read several postings about immigrants but haven't noticed that statement in any of the posts I have read.

No the baby gets to stay - it's natural-born citizenship. The mother thinks that by having the baby, it will be her "anchor" and people will be hesitant to separate a mother and child, thus potentially saving her from future deportation. Hence the term "anchor baby." The baby should get sent back with it's mother as to not separate them.

I suspect they believe it is correct.

I agree that it is not true.

I've never seen anyone say that about the PARENTS of someone who had a child here.

Ignorance ring a bell, people are uneducated, and do not want to be informed, the more they are not informed the more they can have a crewed up view
