I am a roofer by trade! I am suffering from this outrage that nobody in government seems to want to do anything about. I live in Ohio in Butler County, the concentration of illegals here is so bad that they look at you like you don't belong here! They undercut our prices and it is impossible for us to compete with them and still be able to pay our taxes and eat. That's why they do it so cheap, because they don't pay tax on the money they make. I say to everyone, one way to re bell against the illegals is make it hard for them to get work. If you see mexicans on a construction site. Call the authorities and tell them they are illegals. Let the authorities sort out who is and who isn't. If you see them picking crops do the same. The people that don't want to do anything about the mexicans are the ones that benefit from them because they are tight asses and don't want to pay a fair wage. They say they can't afford it. They can! They just want to put all of the money in there pockets! Don't buy any fruits or vegetables that you know for a fact have been picked by mexicans. Don't have a home built by a builder that allows mexicans to work on his job sites. Have it stated in your contract that you want no illegals on your home site. Find ways to make it hard on the illegals and the people who hire and benefit from them. If they have no business flow, then they have no money with which to pay the mexicans! I am a tax paying American Roofer that is starting to feel the effects of the illegals. I am to the point when I see an mexican on a job I ask to see a green card. They don't have to legally show it to me, but when I tell them I'm calling the authorities if they don't produce it, they either produce it or run like hell! And don't give me **** that Americans won't do the work! They will! They just can't do it for what the wet backs do it for because they pay taxes on that money unlike the wet backs. I work in the hot blazing *** sun on a roof and I'll work circles around any wet back. And another thing, they produce sub standard products and arent good craftsmen in construction. They do it so damn cheap that they have no choice but to cobb it up and get it done fast so they can make money! Have you ever seen a roof job done by mexicans? Have you ever seen a brick job or drywall job done by mexicans? I hope you hire mexicans to build your house DAVID! But if they invade your practice or trade I'm sure your feelings will change about them also. I hope they do! I hope they screw your eyeballs out when they effect the wages for the type of work you do. Then you can flush the American dream of having your own home built down the drain! And you are right, the only people here that arent immigrants are native americans. I completely agree with you there. But the people that came here thru ellis island came here legally, the keyword being legally. They became citizens and paid taxes like the rest of us do. They wanted to be americans. Yup! I love the fact that we get told off for something our ancestors did. Guess what! I didn't steal the Native Americans land. I am tired of hearing about how I am not a real American. Guess what.. there are many countries in the big world where people from other countries took over and now are the main citizens. It isn't just America. Why should we be put down because it happened here too? Oh, I know why... because it is America and for some odd reason, other people love to hate America until they need money or help of some sort.

Immigration is what America was founded on. LEGAL immigration. I do not see why we should be "bad" for wanting people to come into this country LEGALLY. Other countries have immigration laws. Are they bad guys? Nope, just America because we are just "awful" people!

I think more and more American citizens, every day, are taking on the feelings that ladysarana expressed here. They are reaching their limit and something is gonna blow if the government doesn't stand up and do something other than pay lipservice to the illegal immigration issue. It could get nasty and I don't think the illegals should be feeling like there is any possibility that they could win in the case of "civil war." There are maybe 250 million citizens who are not on their side and there are maybe 20 million illegals and maybe 20 million illegal immigrant supporters, 30 million if we are generous?

They take our jobs? What?

Every person who wants to work in American can work. How many white kids do you see working the crops? Not a lot. Wanna know why? Because they don't wanna do that kind of work. But Mexicans? They're fine with it, they're fine making minimum wage (and often less, under the table). They basically take the jobs that lazy white and black people don't want. I live in a town that's 5% Mexican. Yet all the fast food restaurants are almost entirely staffed by Mexicans. The managers are white. But the workers? Mexican. And all the white teenagers, what are they doing? They're working in the mall, at the clothing stores, or not even working at all. They're studying to get into college and get the "real" high paying jobs.

How many Mexicans are on welfare, compared to white trash and black people? Not a lot. They work. They are good for our economy. Without them, who would clean your yards, do the dishes, serve your happy meals, pick your crops? White people? Pssh, yea f*cking right. Most white people look at those jobs and aren't interested in them.

You can't get rid of the Mexicans. And I'll tell you one thing - dumb white people DON'T want Mexicans as their bosses, owning corporations and making tons of money. Because that means they'll have power. And dumb white people are the ones that want to keep the power. So whats the f*cking problem? Let them do the dirty work you refuse to do that HAS to be done, go and send your kids to college and let things go as they will.

There's a lot of people, including me, who feel the same way you do. I'm frustrated with our government for letting this get so far out of control. If they don't do something dramatic, we could be facing our own civil war, because I'm not gonna lay down and let the illegals run over me & mine. They're disrespectful anyway, demanding we cater to THEIR rights. What about the two Border Patrol agents who are presently awaiting sentencing because they violated the rights of an illegal trying to cross the border? These agents WERE DOING THEIR JOB. You are right to speak your opinion. Here's mine. Why do white Americans always complain about unfairness being done to them. You shouldn't begrudge anyone anything in this country. It doesn't belong to you either. I am full Native American. If you are white then your ancestors came here from somewhere else and either stole or was given what was ours. In defense of the mexican people I've never met a harder working people. If they are willing to come here under dangerous circumstances live as a fugitive and work twice as hard ? They deserve the same chance as all the other people over the years that made this country their home.All the people that came to Ellis Island took jobs from people that were already here. The people that discovered haha this land stole it from my people lock stock and barrel. They tried to completely exterminate all Native Americans and when that didn't work herded my ancestors like animals to live on rotten reservations. Is your home being burned to the ground and all your relatives being shot down like animals NO. Are you told to give up everything you ever loved or knew or be killed,NO. Stop being so hateful about something that you have no right to in the first place. Being part indian doesn't count. The reservations are the poorest places in this country . The worse schools utilities, etc. If someone of color is taking from whites I say more power to them. I don't care who thinks that is a racist remark against whites.
