What kind of "freedom" of speech do we really have if we can't make honest observations about our government without being accused of siding with the terrorists?

America is now involved in some pretty deep tensions, wheter it be war or government scandals. Is our government full of conspiracies and are we becoming a dictatorship where the balance of powers is no longer playing a role?

Why do we have to have all of these socialistic programs that the dang hippie/left wing Americans keep promoting? If they want to live in a more socialist country why dont they move to Canada instead of try to change our country? There is plenty of countries out there that are socialist, unfortunately Americans do not want to pay the taxes that these socialist programs bring with them.

Anyone have any guesses on what year america will fall? It will one day. All the great ones fall. Rome, egypt, babylon, the greeks, soviet union. America is next on the list, and dont blame bush...he can only take about 10% of the blame. America has been falling since the early 80s and im surprised we've lasted this long. Im pretty sure america will fall hard by 2020...2030 at the latest unless they find a new alternative energy source besides oil. At the worlds current comsumption, the world will be completely out of oil in 20 years. What happens to a country that is completely dependant on oil when it runs out? It will colapse.

Are the American people "at war"? If so, what are the people sacrificing for the "cause"? Buying War Bonds? Working extra hours? Doing without luxuries? Accepting food rationing? Driving under a 35 mph speed limit? Cancelling their vacations? Using ration coupons for 4 gallons of gas per week?

Oh.

Just surrendering their liberties to a self-appointed so-called "wartime president"? Hmmm. I see.

What do you think?

each particular "earmark" in their own states?

Rather than debate the merits of a bridge or subsidy for a given district, why don't we ask why anyone in another state should be footing the bill?

Even if you can't reduce the federal government to the few roles it's actually supposed to serve, can you still reform the "earmark" practice so that it is at least put on the states clamoring for the pork rather than the country as a whole?
