Because people in this day and age have become so polarized by the far left and far right wings that if you are not "with us 100%" then you are "against us 100%". People have lost the natural instinct for moderation proving that humanity is devolving.
Dennis S> That opinion shows you despise America..I say that because the US Constitution gives not only the right but the DUTY to speak up when our leaders are acting like monkeys. Aiding enemies..please that is 1st grade reasoning, YOU are aiding them in recruitment andmorale with your blatant intentions to conquer the world via the sword.
Freddie> I see your point but it is kinda unbalanced since "Oh you like Bush, oh well I think he totally sucks and is horrible" and "Oh you don't like Bush..well I am gonna burn your f'n house to the ground and you are a traitor who should be killed you filthy scum". Anti-Bush tend to keep their statements ABOUT Bush and Pro-Bush tend to declare you a member of al-queda..not really fair.

I'm not sure where you get the "so many people" aspect of your statement. I don't know many people that do support Bush. I don't like him I didn't vote for him, I think he has made some terrible choices. That also goes for his administration. But if I have a right to say I don't like him then people have a right to say they don't agree with me. That's just the way it goes. I also don't support the War but that doesn't mean I don't support our troops. They are doing what they think is right, or just doing their jobs. They should NEVER be mistreated because they served our military. If not for them the US wouldn't be here. Being against the War is not the same thing as being against our Troops. People who get the two confused need to get their facts straight. Just because you don't support the War or our President doesn't mean you side with the terrorists. It just means you are using your freedom of speech!

Alot of it has to do with how you word your displeasure and at least you didn't pick a political side and say all of them. That is progress. At least it means you are not drawing a line in the sand and accusing nearly half of the country of being your direct adversary on this issue. The terrorists and insurgents desiring to see the US crumble from the inside out would like it if you did.
There is a fine line between constructive criticism of the Bush Administration and using your free speech to embolden the enemy. I say criticize him all you want, just don't do it in such a manner that puts our men and women in the military in more danger.
There are alot of things that I, a supporter of the *office* of the President of the US don't like about President Bush and there are things I do like about him.
What I won't do is allow the things I don't like about him to override my responsibility to our country by putting any *additional* undue hardship on our men and women serving us overseas. I *believe* it is important for those regimes, countries and terrorists to see that theUnited States is in fact UNITED. That above all else we stand toether when our way of life is threatened.
Any American that doesn't care if that is the message we send out or not is in my opinion aiding the terrorists.
It is very simple and it is black and white. There are no gray areas in this. Criticize him all you want. Show your displeasure, but do not give the enemy any more ammo or hope that we as a nation will become so divided that they (the enemy) can defeat us.
It isn't that you criticize, it is how you criticize.
PS... Amen CJ, Amen.

What I'd like to know, I mean What I'd REALL REALLY like to know, is why so many people relate the war on Iraq to terrorism AT ALL. The reason for the war in Iraq was to disarm it of wmd's. Then it changed to getting Hussein out. Then it changed to setting up a solid democratic sovereign government... then umm i dunno killing muslims or something.
Point is we should never have gone there.
Thats why so many liberals hate bush
What I don't understand is how conservatives got terrorism tied up with Iraq
The terrorists involved in the only attack on American soil were overwhelmingly Saudi Arabian
They were Operating out of Afhganistan
IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT
it just makes me mad when people justify senseless killing.
and before anyone says "just because we don't know they did, or can't prove it, doesn't mean they didn't, or wouldn't have, supported terrorism!"
well, same goes for just about every country in the middle east
why don't we just bomb em all??
sorry for getting off topic but these answers were irking me bad :)

I guess the truth hurts doesn't it? The whole basis of your point is false. You do not make honest observations and you do side with the terrorists therefore you are cited as being a traitor. All you do is give aid and comfort to our enemies in your actions. Apparently these accusations have hit home if you are reacting this way. If you really believed you were not siding with the terrorists you would not be worried about these accusations and not reacting the way your side does.

I can't understand how anyone at this time could not have some doubts about the Bush administration. Perhaps those who hold the views about which you speak are those who have such deep roots in trusting him that they are so hurt by the truth that they can't accept it and in anger from personal frustration they lash out at others.

I am all for a logical argument; but much of the "questioning rhetoric" posted here is actually American hate, that people try to disguise as "open mindedness ". This goes against my grain to the end.
I must add that my opponents in this debate often retreat to name calling and insults, thus proving the lack of support for the liberal argument (and by contrast, support mine.)
Edit:
For example (copied from above):
"Pft yeah right. Bush is stupid Why doesn't he go choke on a pretzel -_- .. again? :) "
"Bush is the worlds most powerful retard."
"our pres is a retard "

I'd never say that anyone has to "side" with Bush. But when someone supports politicians who do not support our troops, or advocate a "cut and run" policy, or are bleeding heart liberals, I have a problem with that. And I am entitled to my opinion as you are entitled to yours.
If someone is against our troops and their mission, that means, to me, that they are siding with terrorists and have sympathy for them. And I will NEVER condone that.

You're free to say whatever you want, but should expect to be judged (positively or negatively) based on what you say. This is true for politics as well as everything else in life.
