There is a 100% chance that the amendments are only for pork spending.

Because they do it and hide the 'amendments' in the fine print. Most of these things never see the light of day until they are passed. Politicians know the voters would never approve of them, so they hide them from our view by tacking them onto popular bills they know will pass.

It's a sick and twisted way to do politics.

The founding fathers never envisioned our legislators passing such laws and bills as they have been doing. Once people begin to pass "pork", everyone else is afraid not to allow it our their "pork" will be cut off.

Why don't we realize that most of that kind of stuff is not for real improvements but rather the improvement of the sponsoring legislature?

I would like to see, at the minimum, a requirement that there can be no amendments not directly related to the main bill attached. Each item, if worthy of our money, is worthy of a vote. Not packaged on the 600th page of an completely different bill.

How Else do you think they get their raises?
Yes it is wrong and I have said for years that the People need to write congress and demand a bill that becomes law that they can only put one item in a bill, and no add on's.
It would take the People, because they would be stopped form pork and raises that are tacked on at the last moment on the end.

Systems developed by politicians and bureacrats are expected to provide for messy, irrational things. Politics flourish in an environment of stupidity and irrationality.
