I need help in my computer course. I have narrowed this question down to two answers. I am leaning towards answer number 2. Does anyone know for sure?

Question: Who Regulates the Internet?

Answers: 1) The US Government; 2) No one

I read that the US Gov. is trying to regulate the internet, but they still don't. Am I right to choose answer #2? Thanks.

Are people coming out of university into government and making these drastic errors, stupid laws and daft decisions?

Are many high flying posts only open to people with degrees but the majority of these people don't have life skills, common sense or a sense of reality?

Tenn has sent police to neighboring states to watch for tenn citizens to purchase cigarettes from out of state and bringing them back home.

http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2007/sep/27/cigarette-surveillance-program-begins-today/

When stopped at the border inside Tenn, would this not violate the driver's 4th amendment rights againt search and siezure? I would think that if you put the cigarettes in the trunk and refused consent to let the officer search the car, they [police]would need a warrant to search. Would the statement that another officer saw you walking out of a store in another state be sufficient to get a warrant?

I'm 16 years old and I think I'm just as informed on issues as any adult. I should be able to vote. I agree with most Americans and would totally vote for Obama. He's really hot and Oprah likes him too. Shouldn't we lower the voting age to 16?

Now, there are a LOT of strong opinions about politics. Sometimes I think this should be called "Yahoo Opinions" instead of "Answers"

My question is.....do you dislike one canidate enough to give up something personal of your own to make sure they didn't get elected?

For instance: Would you shorten your life 3 months, if it meant a politician would not get elected? Would you give up your car? Your 2 week vacation? Your dog?

What I'm asking is how personal the presidental election is, and how important it is to you that a certain canidate does NOT get elected?

In a letter to Bush on Thursday, Pelosi and Reid urged him "to make every effort to ensure" that the 23 million families who will benefit from AMT relief "receive their refund in a timely manner."

If Americans face delays in the getting their tax refunds this year, Democratic leaders want them to blame the Bush administration -- even though the Democrat-led Congress caused the problem.

But Congress did not pass AMT relief in a timely matter. it wasn't the very last minute -- that Congress finally passed a temporary fix for the Alternative Minimum Tax, a levy that increasingly ensnares the middle class.

But Pelosi and Reid said the IRS should have anticipated what Congress would end up doing. What?

After spending the last several years wringing their hands and daily pummeling us with the doom and gloom that they saw in Iraq, why isn't the unbiased media not cheering our successes and reporting the progress with as much gusto? Is it because blood is exciting and success is bad for business or is this an agenda thing? If they admit we're succeeding, do they then have to admit that they were wrong in their armchair predictions of our failure?

Congressional Democrats have finally tired of fighting for surrender and will pressure Pelosi and Reid to end the battles over Iraq war funding.

Pelosi and Reid, despite their pledges to continue pushing to end the war in Iraq, face growing pressure from their rank-and-file Democrats to focus more attention on domestic, “pocketbook” issues in the upcoming election year.

The last Senate vote on this subject came this week, and only half of his caucus opposed the new Iraq war funding. In the House, 78 Democrats supported the funding measure.

Harry Reid promised instead to have another string of continuous votes on the issue, promising to put the "pedal to the metal".

He may want to check the gas tank first.

What say you?

Bush Administration Quietly Plans NAFTA Super Highway
by Jerome R. Corsi

Quietly but systematically, the Bush Administration is advancing the plan to build a huge NAFTA Super Highway, four football-fields-wide, through the heart of the U.S. along Interstate 35, from the Mexican border at Laredo, Tex., to the Canadian border north of Duluth, Minn.

Go to: http://www.humanevents.com/
and search NAFTA Super Highway
Read for yourself, and act upon this!
This is no joke, no matter which way you look at it.

Witness the drama at Bali as news emerges that something is not quite right in the global warming camp.

With only few days remaining in 2007, the indications are the global temperature for this year is the same as that for 2006 – there has been no warming over the 12 months.

The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 as well as every year since 2001. Global warming has, temporarily or permanently, ceased. Temperatures across the world are not increasing as they should according to the fundamental theory behind global warming – the greenhouse effect. Something else is happening and it is vital that we find out what or else we may spend hundreds of billions of pounds needlessly.
Some media commentators say that the science of global warming is now beyond doubt and those who advocate alternative approaches or indeed modifications to the carbon dioxide greenhouse warming effect had lost the scientific argument. Not so.

The white settlers came to this country long ago from Europe and made home in a land where they were the minority. They were accepted by the natives at first until they started doing all kinds of crazy things like killing the natives and demeaning them in their own land. They later took over the country.MORE and MORE of them came until the natives were finally the minorities. The settlers even insisted on keeping their own language and not learning the languages of their new home. They pushed the natives into reservations and killed even more of them for NO reason (you know the old stereotype of illegal aliens commiting senseless crimes). They deemed themselves superior and refused to go home. They worked the jobs that the natives "didn't" want to work and multiplied until this country became theirs. Does this story remind you of a current story? How can we be upset about illegal immigration when it is EXACTLY how this nation was founded?Isn't illegal immigration our history?
