Every time i turn on the news when the election comes on, i always hear New Hampshire and Iowa, and not any other states

they are the first states to hold primaries. it's not so much that they're "big". it has more to do with being first. the two states have been 1 and 2 for as long as i can remember. this election is no different.

Because they have their primary or caucus first, so they're the first to vote. First results are big news. New Hampshire's constitution says they have to have the first primary in the country. I've always wondered what would happen if some other state put the same thing in their constitution....

and usually the rest of the country follows whoever wins those 2 states

Because they are the first to vote and the winner gets a big boost because people in the other states will see them as a winner and will naturally tend to gravitate towards them.

They are worth a lot of key points...and NH has the first in the nation primary. I am very proud to be a life long resident of NH!!!

They are early primary states so its thought whoever wins there might get the bid to run in Nov.

Because historically, they are the first states to hold their caucuses and primaries...thus giving the winners momentum in other states.

they are early primary voting states for dem and repubs . note :there are many other parties with qualified candidates .you don't HAVE to vote D or R as i believe they have both become corrupt . try checking out Kuchinik .
