In a letter to Bush on Thursday, Pelosi and Reid urged him "to make every effort to ensure" that the 23 million families who will benefit from AMT relief "receive their refund in a timely manner."

If Americans face delays in the getting their tax refunds this year, Democratic leaders want them to blame the Bush administration -- even though the Democrat-led Congress caused the problem.

But Congress did not pass AMT relief in a timely matter. it wasn't the very last minute -- that Congress finally passed a temporary fix for the Alternative Minimum Tax, a levy that increasingly ensnares the middle class.

But Pelosi and Reid said the IRS should have anticipated what Congress would end up doing. What?

SO much for campaign promises eh Bubba? If you saw the Presidential Press conference Bush again gave some lashings to the lame Congress. He commended then yet stated they just really have done little. Nothing in any timely manner. Just working on the odd years then campaign on the evens. The ear marks on the troop money bill were over 17 mil. Bush told them justa Defense spending bill. They passed this garbage day b4 Christmas break. No debate. Besure Bush will keep using the veto the more pork he receives. The DNC seems not to care.
American's awoke during the summer, perhaps they may get outraged over Christmas. About time. This BS affect all of us. And in a time of war divides the nation. Just perfect setting for a Presidential take over campaign. Politics as usual. Pelosi & Reid need some time out for bad behaviour.
Imagine no IRS checks? Delayed? Who collects the interest anyway ? More blame and shame on them. Thank you very much.

Reid and Pelosi are just trying to find a way to shift the blame on to Bush. The sad thing is that all the liberals out there are going to bite hook, line and sinker. I can just see it now. Next year when people aren't getting there refunds in a timely manner (because Reid and Pelosi sat on their hands all year) they will start saying that they asked the president to make sure people would get there money back on time. Then CNN will turn it into a huge failure of the Bush administration. It's a ploy to make Republicans look bad so that the Democrats can take the White House in 2008. The sad thing is that there are so many people out there who don't know any better and will buy the whole thing.

Wow, Democrats in favor of Tax refunds? I'm certain it's a whopper. Just as it was the Democrats fault the immigration bill had no teeth. Crafty propagandist socialists lead the Democratic party of today and their true colors are being highlighted by the truth as usual. Man, they hate that truth thingy, always catches up to them doesn't it?

Here again we have liberals not thinking nor caring about the people. Saying they do, but not really. Their hatred of George Bush is so much greater than their love of country that they would even introduce hardships that affect the very people they are supposed to serve.Their hatred of Bush is even greater than their lust for power, and that's saying a lot. They will say or do anything to undermine this administration even devalue any and all successes along the way.

Ahhh Democrats at their finest. I am so against this i hope the stupid people never get their money .I am so tired of paying for greedy peoples mistakes. We bought a home. Where is our money? Is it because we were smart enough to know the consequences and bought what we could afford?. i guess being smart is not good these days.

This has been one of the most irresponsible Congressional sessions in history. Of course they want to shift the blame.
