25 yrs-life for actual rape or sodomy of a child and15 yrs-life for attempted rape/sodomy. Do you feel these harsher penalties will deter this crime despite the perpetrators claiming they had "uncontrollable" urges? Perhaps we'll see if these urges were in fact controllable if the crimes decreased becausethe punishment isn't worth the urge. Personally, i will be glad they are off the streets long-term.

I have been avoiding the DA, I do not want to go to court!! She called today (on my machine) and said I would be supenod to trial as victim and witness for my X boyfriends Domestic violence towards me. I put all this abuse behind me and don't want to re live it. I have been hurt enough, now fear his HIGH power attorneys are going to twist and turn the truth to make me feel even more insecure than I already do! What kind of questions do they ask me? Do they ask personal, non related questions? Will his attorney find skeletons in my closet? or make them up?

Yes this is all theoretical. If the U.S. were invaded and there were a few U.S. citizens that actively avoided defending the country even though they were physically able. What would be an appropriate punishment?

in their own homes and churches or synagogues are immoral heathens, yet the religious zealots tend to take their supposed moral high ground and think its a safety barrier that allows them to go out and do some sexual deviant behavior. I WOULD LIKE ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO REALIZE THEY ARE MADE OF FLESH AND GOD MADE THEM FLAWED BUT DONT USE THAT AS AN EXCUSE TO GO DO THEY DESPICABLE THINGS I AM SPEAKING ABOUT TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION. IE PREMARITAL SEX, DIVORCE, SODOMY.

no this is not a generalization, it is a stated fact. when 10 out of the 10 loudest most outspoken right wing zealots are found guilty of this that and the other weird sexual deviancy there has to be something going on in that party.

instead of focusing and advocating against abortion? focusing on issue like education, health care, prevention programs, etc. will assure saving more lives and a better quality of life as well.
if one does otherwise he or she is not really pro-life but merely anti-abortionist!

ever since i got out of the air force (4 year active with 4 years inactive post service) i find it hard to 'get over it all'. i'm very defensive about my service and find myself falling into the stereotype of a 'bitter veteran'. its hard and annoying to deal with civilians, and i miss my military life, but i do not want to go back to it because i want to settle down in one town. did you have this problem after you seperated?

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve -
is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check
made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of 'up to
and including my life."

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no
longer understand it.

- Author Unknown

I believe this to be so true.

Why do so many of you judge people who have State Aid, without knowing the siuation?Yes, there are alot of people who abuse it,but theres also alot who dont, and honestly need temporary help because of hard times.I want to know because I have gotten alot of ignorant comments from people. And automatically people say, Im paying for it,they are taking my tax dollars.Thats not always the case.I was about 8 months pregnant when my husband fractured his skull, broke his collarbone, had internal bleeding, and a fractued sternum from an accident. We had no choice, but to get all the State Aid we could.I worked 8-10 hours everyday until my water ruptured with one breal on my feet all day long. Before the accident my husband worked 60 hours a week doing construction. He just went back to work, now working 60-70 hours a week.Even with the aid,we lost just about everything because of an accident, not because we were looking for a free handout. We both bust our butts at work, and have paid well into it.

Why not mark any person caught here illegally? This could be a mark that is permanate and instantly lets law enforcement know the history of the illegal!! There is no invasion of pivacy here because illegals don't have constitutional rights!
No pain involved and only law enforcement could see the mark!!!
Think about it! We can't stop them from coming, but we could develope a database?
That would be of help with illegals that are criminals beyond just being illegal!!
I'll bet this question don't last!

My sister needs to sue her ex-friend because this person borrowed money from her for various things and never paid her back.
This person is in dept (20k) and has no assets but has a job with a steady paycheck. If my sister were to win her case how exactly would that person pay her back?
My sister has lent this person money throughout the years and my sister would write down what is owed to her. She also has receipts of things that she has bought for this person. They weren't gifts though. It was a "I'll buy this for you and you pay me back" thing. Will all of this be enough proof? What else could she do to have a stronger case?
Should she get a lawyer for her small claims case?
