Contact your personnel office. Each company can have it own policy regarding those questions. There is no universal answer.

Depends, on what the arrangements and the reason for the suspension are.

Some places will pay you, many do not.

However, if you are re-instated, you should be paid for your normal time.

My 2c is that if a company isn't paying you, then unless you really want to go back and work there, and they are going to re-imburse your lost income, then you might as well see what else in on offer, aka find another job and maybe keep it.

By rights, you should have been told why you were suspended, how long for, the proceedure to occur (your rights, review, etc) and whether they they were going to pay you with the letter of suspension.

This is one of those times where a union may be of assistance.

Wow, that's really ridiculous. Pennies are money, money is money no matter what coin you use to pay. Pennies, Dimes, Nickels, Loonies, Toonies. As long as you pay the right amount of money to which you owe, I see nothing wrong with paying for a school lunch with pennies. I mean if you can't spend your pennies why bother even having them?? So it takes a little time to count it out, you don't see any teachers being suspended because their classes are too long now do we?? I never even heard of this happening until I read your post here. ~Danny

That depends on your employer and your contract (if you have one). If you don't have an agreement that provides for your pay while suspended then your employer is not obligated to pay you.

If you would be a high flyer you would be suspended with full pay. This is the way to look after your "club members".
